got one of those amazon door/hood/trunk seal kits for wife's 3. it cuts down on the crud that gets in there by a good 80%ish Also reduced wind noise.

Always dirty. doesnt matter if you got aftermarket rubber seals or not. i removed mine because they make buggarall difference and have a tendency to come off after a few months.

This is not unique to Teslas, all cars get dirty sills outside of the seals.

I get dirty sills all the time, but I also used to get them on a Volvo S60 and a Jeep grand Cherokee that I used to own. Nothing to worry about. Just wipe them down with a clean rag once in a while.

Almost All cars get dirt outside the door seals. Only vehicle I’ve ever owned that dosn’t get dirty door sills from the rain is my LX570. It has double sealed doors. Inner seal and outer seal outside the sills. That said it’s door sills are still dirty all the time, come to think of it I don’t think I’ve washed it in at least 3 months.

Yes but it’s the only car I’ve cared enough about to try to keep clean. I never bothered to check my prior cars. i wipe the sills clean with a microfiber cloth after every wash. Not a huge problem.

i know. i think that affects all cars though. i have mudflaps and they dont help.

Every car I have owned for the past 40 years gets dirty there after a rain.

Mud flaps help quite a bit. The door seals helped a little but not a ton. I do think the door seals quieted my old '18 down and they didn't budge in 2.5 years. I did wipe down with alcohol prior to install. I'll be adding both flaps and door seals to our new '22. Have both waiting in a box already.

I think the more aero a vehicle, the more likely you are to get a dirty butt, because a greater percentage of the air, water and fine dirt are sent back along the boundary layer of the car, and then the low pressure vacuum behind the car, sucks it back to the butt. A less aero vehicle, would just send most of it out to the sides, leaving less to stick to the butt.
