I too only bought the filter. As mattack4000 said install takes less than an hour. No special tools needed, or skills. I have no experience with cars and never opened the area where this goes, and install was indeed quite easy. Just 20 bolts that were not difficult at all to take off.

I just purchased one and will report back when I get it installed.
There's not much detail on the specification of the filter on Amazon like dimensions and filter MERV rating. The picture looks like 2 filters stuck together. Please send a picture and let us know if you have more information after receiving yours. Thanks!
Just got my filter delivered. It was shipped from Hong Kong and took just under a week to get here.
I won't take delivery on my X for another 2 weeks so I don't know how well they fit.
The rough dimensions are 19.75 x 12 x 2.25 inches.
The sides of the filter does look like 2 filters stacked together but I couldn't pull them apart while it's still in the bag.
I don't see any MERV rating on the filter itself.

Decided to open the bag and it looks like the filters is folded in half when it's shipped.
Opened dimensions should be about 40x12x1 inches.

Looks great. I was messaging with someone from Tesla Home and asked for filter specs. They sent me this performance test result report:
I tried calling all the Tesla SC talking with the parts department (if they had one) to see if I could order the MX HEPA filter. They all said no, unless I had the PUP. I guess others are luckier than me to be able to order one. I'd be interested in your empty case.

Weird. Have your local SC call Winter at the Santa Monica service center in Los Angeles AFTER 3/30 (when they’re doing our S, after having done our X already; don’t want them telling her not to install it!) and she’ll explain that they can do. It’s abour $200 or so including all the install. No risk of screwing up your car or wasting time doing this.
BTW what setting on the AC mimics Bioweapon Defense?
Wow, they'll install it too? That's great. I'll give them a call next month. From what I've been reading to mimic BWDM, set your fan on high pulling in outside air for a minute to build positive pressure in the cabin then you can turn it down to 4 or so to keep to maintain pressure in the cabin.
Come and grab it, I was gonna toss it in the trash. I think I listed the part # in a previous post, I got it from Sunnyvale

Awesome, does it work well? Do you notice any reduction of airflow through the vents after installing the filter?
I only tested it for a minute but didn't notice much difference. I will be driving the car a little tomorrow and will report back.
