So, when should we start dealing with the insurance again? 2 weeks before getting the car?
Also, no license plate means cannot queue up for parking space rental.

In case you are insured via Liberty:

Thank you for your updates. Rest assured that the quotation terms remain the same.

Looking forward to your Model S delivery very soon and you will probably need to arrange insurance a few weeks before your actual pick up. Please keep me posted.

So you are about right.

I have tried to get a parking membership at Sino by using the receipt of my personalised license plate - which I am going to use for the car. I seem to have an account, and they didn't contact me (yet) to question that procedure.

I also wonder - about the personal license plate, that at some stage, Tesla Motors should get the information so they don't register the car with a random plate.

Congrats @markwj for the status change! Looks like one of the first batch of Asian RHD cars. Maybe early July possible? Fingers crossed (uh, actually, here we should say "palms together?)

That would be nice, but by sea transit times will be at least 1 month. Then, batching of vehicles at both ends, and Hong Kong registration steps. I'm expecting mid August.

I know DITB is extremely excited about getting his car (we all are!) but I'm with Mark on his mid-August delivery so I've already mentally prepared myself for a mid-September delivery for mine. I consider myself an optimistic person but I would rather budget later and get it earlier than expected than be disappointed after budgeting an earlier delivery.

I've heard through the grapevine that the launch will be about a week before the end of July. Elon requested that the venue must hold 1,000 people and have enough space for people to test drive. I don't think the place they have in mind has been mentioned on this forum yet but it makes sense given these two "requirements". They are also searching for a new showroom, which will be on HK Island. The strange part (but logical once you understand the rationale) is that they are looking at Central near fashion boutiques so that they can distance themselves away from "regular" auto dealers.

Tesla HK was ready to pick up the keys from the landlord for a showroom location, but Elon personally intervened and insisted on a better location.
Launch event probably around 19.7., possibly at the new cruise ship terminal at Kai Tak.

2014/06/30 my car is now 'your car is being prepared for pickup or delivery'. A month shipping, plus a couple weeks of prep, mid-August just might happen.

And today:

Production Complete
Your (Model S) is in transit from the factory.

My car had been stuck 'sourcing parts' for months. This all changed and things got moving within days of me changing the vehicle nickname (on My Tesla) to "Expedited Delivery Approved". Someone must be watching...

I was just contacted by my delivery specialist.
My expected delivery is early September.
I asked a few other questions, but he didn't have any answers. The only point of the call, it seems, is to confirm my address so that they could send me the wall connector (even though he couldn't confirm when it would be sent either).

Oh.. I thot "your car is being prepared for pickup or delivery" is closer to the final stage , compare to "Production Complete Your (Model S) is in transit from the factory." My car was never in "car is being prepared..." stage.

Just got a call from Tesla, he said i wont get my car until early or mid August. I am really disappointed by the fact that paying the premium for a Signature means you are only getting the car 2 to 3 week ahead of the "normal" production. will strongly advice potential model X buyer not to get the signature car. Really should have spent the extra 300k on the TSLA stock rather than the car itself

Did any of you with VIN 46000 and up receive call from Tesla regarding delivery and financing yet?

No, I didn't, and I have P46314.

I wish I could pick up the car in California and bring it back to HK myself (yes, I know it isn't possible). Would probably cost 25K HKD to airlift it.

I paid deposit in December 2012, albeit only 38 000 HKD. Those that paid deposit over a year later, are getting their cars about the same time as me - possibly even before. I share your frustration and impatience - for me, it is not a question of when others get the car, I am happy if everyone could get the car on the same day, I am just tired of planning and hoping - yes, I am too optimistic I know. I had really hoped at least I could have the car for the summer. From next week I will be doing daily trips of almost 2 hours (each way) by bus, where the drive in a car would be around 45 minutes. And the heat, the humidity, all the hassle, it is not just about waiting, but about the situation of the environment and my life which really makes it inconvenient that I don't have the car yet.

While I don't mind when others get their cars, I also feel the same as you, the deliveries should be in order. If there are ~50 Signature cars (or so?), I cannot see a reason for Tesla Motors to tell everyone else they will have to wait three months for delivery only to respect the Signature deliveries. As the RHD model is being produced now, they should just get it to market as soon as possible.

Don't get me wrong, delaying all the "normal" orders won't make me happy at all.

The problem is that there is isn't any advantages of being a Signature owner. Tesla could have made all the HK signature order before they made the "normal" orders for UK.
What is the most frustrating is that even it stated as "in transit from factory" It doesn't mean that the car is on the cargo ship coming to HK. The rep told me my car is still in US waiting to be shipped...

Again, there isn't any privileges of being a signature owner, and I will not order another signature model in the future. Not even a Alphard made by Tesla:mad:
