The handle snapped off my Tesla mug this morning (part of the swag I got on delivery 6 weeks ago).
Shame, it was a nice mug. :(

Hopefully not a sign of other Tesla problems to come.

Might still be under warranty as long you handled it according to manufacturer specs. ;)

Ouch. I'm thinking you like your coffee really hot?

(That failure looks to be placed where the differential thermal expansion stresses the handle.)

Were you using Autopilot at the time of the incident? ;)

Tea, Early Grey, hot. (okay, I've been re-watching TNG on Netflix ... but I am a tea drinking Brit)

Pretty much always on auto-pilot, whether in the car or not ;)

maybe I should start a "Tesla Mug - Owners' repairs" thread just in case? Of course, Telsa won't give us the service manual, but I'm sure we can work it out anyway :)

Don't worry - they'll give you an equivalent or better loaner cup while they repair this one!

Except if they sold their loaner cup... then you'll get a Red Solo Cup instead, that you can't drink coffee out of very fast, and ends up polluting everything.

There is a solution to it, but it may void your warranty.
Use a drop of super glue in the middle of the eroded zones and stick the handle back together. After that roll the entire handle in black electrical tape and you will have a new and nicer handle :)

Ah! Porcelain delete on the handle. Nice.
Looks like there's a whole world of aftermarket Tesla Mug mods I've been woefully unaware of.

Food and drink in the car? That's heresy around these parts.

Seriously, though, that never occurred to me.

You have yourself a perfectly good handle.

Not sure about the mug, however.

really unbelievable and inexcusable that a $80k+ car would have these kinds of problems. my lexus mug handle has never been an issue and i grab my bmw mug all the time w no problems.

i suggest you write Elon an open letter and demand a refund on your car.

You prematurely unlocked Tesla's easter egg. Your cup will fit now all 6 Model 3 cupholders.

Yes I would be concerned because equating a coffee mug to a car is so meaningful.
