Don't worry - they'll give you an equivalent or better loaner cup while they repair this one!
Except if they sold their loaner cup... then you'll get a Red Solo Cup instead, that you can't drink coffee out of very fast, and ends up polluting everything.

you will want a replacement asap, they where also designed to fit in the cup holder in the car like a glove!
After that roll the entire handle in black electrical tape and you will have a new and nicer handle

really unbelievable and inexcusable that a $80k+ car would have these kinds of problems. my lexus mug handle has never been an issue and i grab my bmw mug all the time w no problems.
i suggest you write Elon an open letter and demand a refund on your car.
