Just got back from a Disney trip and wanted to advise everyone that if you opt to stay in the Cabins at the Fort Wilderness Lodge you have access to a 5/20 outlet right in your parking space. See attached pics. I was able to get 117v/16A/5mph charge during my stay. My outlet was a little "wonky" so my 5/20 adapter hung out just a bit but never affected charging. I would suggest bringing an array of bungee cords so you could take the weight off the plug. You could connect the bungee to the window directly above the outlet. If you're really serious about using the bungee bring a cordless drill and long wood screw and just make your own place to connect your bungee hook. Trust me, nobody would be the wiser.

I've also read that Disney will allow you to charge in a vacant campsite at a 14/50 outlet assuming one is available as long as you are staying in a cabin. i wasn't able to verify this during my stay as I was able to fully recharge over 2 days.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, if you are in possession of a 25" 14/50 extension cord you could feasibly pull out the slide in range and run the cord from the oven outlet, out the window, and then connect your UMC to it and charge at 40amps.

Thanks for the information.

Even though this thread is for 240 volt overnight charging, I'm going to leave your posting intact.

Since it is very iffy that a NEMA 14-50 outlet would be available while staying at a cabin, I'm not going to add this location to our Google map of hotels with charging.

Noticed the following "Coming Soon" new listing on The Tesla Supercharger web page which lists a Florida hotel with HPWCs. Haven't seen anything on the forum mentioning it but may have missed it. The posting says "coming soon" so I called the Cheeca Lodge & Spa hotel and talked to Engineering on their status. He says they have a total of six Tesla HPWC already activated. One in front is 100 amp for Tesla's passing by to do a quick charge and the rest are 60a and 40a located near the rooms. He said Tesla owners are welcome to stop by and use the chargers without staying at the hotel.

Hi Leo,

Thanks.

My view of the Find Us page doesn't show the "Coming Soon", but lists it as active now.

Plugshare lists this location and for the most part reflects the information that Engineering relayed to you. Except the summary list has the wrong number of J1772 and HPWCs (I tried to correct it but Plugshare won't let me access that portion of the listing), and it says that they are for guests. Plugshare reference: Cheeca Lodge Spa | Islamorada, FL | Electric Car Charging Station | PlugShare

The notation on the Tesla Find Us page is somewhat misleading since it says "4 Tesla Connectors, up to 80A" when only one HPWC will deliver 80 amps.

Larry: After reading the plugshare comments, which I wasn't aware of before you cited it, I suspect the plug share information is correct. The guy I spoke to in engineering probably meant that all the plugs could be used by Tesla. He just didn't get his language correct, i.e,, HPWC vs J1772 as he never mentioned J1772 in the conversation.

Went to the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort in Naples today and used one of the two HPWCs:

I should have been expecting this, but I didn't think about the fact that they use a commercial circuit, so it's 208V instead of the 240V I am used to at home:

Very nice people at the valet, and very familiar with Teslas. He was fine with me backing it in and hooking up, but required that he hold my key. No charge, but since I was eating at the restaurant I'm not sure there would have been otherwise. I suggest tipping.

Also, they confirmed that there is one at the other Naples Ritz (by the water), but only one instead of 2.

My apologies for not taking photos, but the Four Seasons in Palm Beach has one level 2 charging station at 30amp. it's valet only parking at the resort, but the spot is just to the left of the porte cochere. I can pin it if you need an exact location.

The Hampton Inn Brickell is already on the list but I thought a few additional comments would be in order. I have charged there twice recently. There are four GE level 2 chargers, delivering 208v/30a consistently. The charging is free but one must pay $3 per hour for parking if not staying in the hotel, fairly cheap parking for the area. The spaces are spacious and very clean. One of the owners of the hotel owns a Fisker Karma! It is often parked adjacent to the EV charging, but appropriately located with other ICE cars.

The Epicurean Hotel in Tampa is a unique experience.

Last night Bern's Fine Wines & Spirits and the Epicurean Hotel treated our club to a wine tasting. Wow!!

This is the first time I have been to the Epicurean, it is really a unique experience.
When you drive in the valet greets you, immediately recognizes that you are driving a Tesla and offers to charge your car. I say, "Well I want to keep the High Power Wall Connectors free for those folks who might really need it to get home." He says, "No problem, we're here 24/7 and we will swap out your car when it finishes charging to free it up."

As my wife and I get out of the car we are then greeted by two cute girls who offer to carry our bags. They escort us to the lobby where we are immediately given cool glasses of great tasting wine. Expecting to have to go to a registration desk the girls instead direct us to the elevator and escort us to our room. They describe the amenities and only then do they ask for my credit card where it is swiped into the iPad and in literally seconds the entire registration process is done.

After drinking great wine at Bern's Fine Wines located in the lobby of the hotel, we buy a few bottles and take them to the Élevage Restaurant. The service is very good, the food is fantastic and for this special club event our corkage fees (which normally would have been $75) are waived.

Afterwards my wife and I go to the stylish rooftop cocktail lounge, Edge. Very nice and the weather was perfect. I'm not sure how the Epicurean pulled that off.

It was a great overall experience and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a place to stay in Tampa. Across the street is the famous Bern's Steakhouse which has great steaks and the world's largest fine wine collection.

For folks coming from out of town in their Model Ss, the Brandon Supercharger station is less than 14 miles away, and the hotel has two on-site HPWCs. The Epicurean is part of Tesla's Destination Charging Program. It's location is already programmed into your navigation systems. Just select the "Places" tab and then the "Destination Chargers" tap and scroll to the Epicurean to select it from the list.

Since the Superchargers are so close, if possible I will see if I can arrange for a more extended club event there and invite all club regions.

On Sunday I had planned to drive down to Marathon Supercharger from Miami, spend a few hours at a local park, have dinner somewhere, and head back home ...
Unfortunately, about 2 miles before Marathon, there was a major car accident with a fatality just ahead of me, and US1 was shut down for about 4 hours. After about an hour of waiting, I checked plugshare and found the new Cheeca Lodge charging location -- I have been there before many times for dinner, but the charging is new. I was at a very low SOC at this point, so if I was unable to make the Cheeca Lodge location, my only other option would be to wait to go down to Marathon, so this was quite a savior in my case.

At Cheeca Lodge, the staff seemed to be completely unfamiliar with the exact locations of the chargers, and their charging rates, etc -- but were very friendly about it. I was initially told to just drive around looking for a parking spot with one -- I found a Clipper Creek J1772 @ 32A. After parking there, I walked around to try and find the 80A HPWC, which is right in front of the Valet area. It was ICEd, but the Valet offered to move the car in the way there.

Clipper Creek 32A was @ 240V, but the HPWC 80A was @ 208V.

In about 2 hours, I had dinner, and got plenty enough charge to make it home.

Honestly this is a fantastic setup for EV's, and a wonderful property. Great sushi :). Would highly recommend this as somewhere to either stop for a charge / dinner on the way back north from Key West, or as a destination charge for a staycation.
