I was just out there at the service center yesterday. They had just about every color available to see there. Very close to a dealership in respects to being able to see all the different interior/exterior combinations. It was very helpful in making my color choice. I'd highly recommend making a trip out there to anyone trying to make their final color decisions.

Decided to go with pearl white/tan with 21" silver rims. Funny because white was one of the colors I ruled out when I first looked at the Model S months ago. Great group of people at the service center too. They were very receptive of me being there to check out the colors and were very enthusiastic about the company and cars. They let me walk around the service garage and out back on the new delivery cars. Alot of dealerships wouldn't let you do that unescorted.

Where do you guys go for window tint and paint armour for your Model S's in Houston?

Whitney delivered my car at the Houston Service Center on Wednesday Evening. I am completely satisfied with every aspect of the P85+ and I have found the Blink charger is more than adequate for charging both the Volt and the Model S.

Gnelson,

Your car looks incredible. I hope you find it everything you had envisioned and more. Perhaps I'll see you at an upcoming coffee and cars.

We really enjoyed seeing you at the last Coffee and Cars. We may go out of town over the July 4th weekend to get some windshield time in the Model S. I suspect the next one is on July 6. Thanks for the compliment. The P 85+ has exceeded my expectations.

I also want to give a shout out to Whitney. I knew she would be great, but she also exceeded my expectations. Having your car delivered by such a wonderful DS is a great experience, but more importantly she juggled a lot of balls to make sure my car got delivered when I wanted it. She took exceptionally good care of me.

Litewait, thanks for the info. What does the 22PLE do?

@Skintrade: The 22PLE is a nano ceramic coating that protects the paint and looks great. It adds depth to the paint to make it pop while giving you an extra layer of protection (much better protection than the clear coat provides). It also sheets liquids better than wax. You can also apply it to the windshield and water just sheets away. There are other products out there such as Opti-Coat and C-Quartz but I only have experience with the 22PLE.

jed-99aggie had the only Tesla. Jason showed up but not with his. My wife was fading so we left around 8; so, my wife didn't get a ride yet. I think she is flying again on Wed.

We talked with a nice gentleman from Oslo. He has a reservation for a Model X. He is getting 2 Leafs due to the long wait for a Model S. They get fantastic incentives for EV's in Norway. I think he would be happier with a Volt than the Leafs, but they only get partial incentives for Volts.

We also talked with a young man who has a reservation for a white Model S.

The young man with the reservation for a white Model S was my son's roommate. That afternoon I let him drive mine in River Oaks (good choice of spots...) and of course he loved it!

Lynn, what did you ever do about the Alloy Gators? I have mine and I'm hesitant to install them myself... how did it go?

David

I haven't found anyone to install the Alloy Gators yet!! I though I might drop by the place where I had my windows tinted. My car is being serviced tomorrow for the first time - I'll ask them for suggestions, too.

@Litewait: Sounds great. Wondering what's the cost on doing 22PLE? Did you also do 22PLE on the front where you had the clear bra installed?

@Skintrade: Call Anson at Vive for more accurate quotes but I think it's around $350. You should really polish the car first which will be an additional cost depending on how bad your surface scratches are. A stage 1 paint correction is something like $350 but I'm not sure. From what I understand the Service Center is prepping the cars for delivery so you might be in better shape than what I had when mine rolled off the assembly line in Fremont (which was something like 10 minutes before I arrived). Mine just needed a light stage 1 paint correction to get out some of the factory defects and surface scratches. The paint Tesla uses is very polish friendly so the car just looks really good after you complete all that.

Yes the 22PLE goes over the XPEL and looks great.

Stopped by the Tesla Gallery this evening--looks like they are in the midst of a test drive event (this weekend and next), so if there are some folks that want a test drive, no doubt one could be arranged. Interestingly one of the two cars they have doesn't have air suspension. I'd be tempted to drive just to see how that feels.

By the way, I stopped by Eddie Vs in North Kirby this evening for dinner, and they parked my Model S in the front spot. When I came out, it was my Model S, a Ferrari, then a white Model S (VIN 6249) with standard plates (someone I haven't met yet). No room for the Aston that just pulled up. :)
