The steering wheel icon, the one that turns blue when you’re in auto pilot, it seems to be animated, so it rotates with the steering wheel. It’s awfully subtle, or am I imagining it?

My car is calibrating the camera after getting a Full FSD 3.0 upgrade and the steering wheel icon is mostly grey with tiny blue spots.

I noticed it! There's some other little cool things too. Like did you know that when you put on your turn signal, it actually shows the taillights signalling on the little car visualization? It's pretty neat

WesB, way back when we were on 3.0 firmware, when you pressed the T on the top of the screen, and then the brake or put it in reverse you could see the brake lights or backup lights light up even though the car was profiled. And sometime about 5.0 it stopped. Then when we got the car on the IC, the lights returned. Ya never know what they are going to do - and take away later.

Been this way for YEARS. There have been threads about this by other "surprised" people too.
And, when the brakes are engaged, they show reflected red light on the ground of the animation.
I really did notice this. I thought to myself "That'd be pretty neat if it turned"... and it did!
Yes, it goes off the steering angle sensor. Fun fact: If your alignment is off, and the steering wheel is off center when going straight, the icon is rotated too!
Just wondering, have you noticed if the car visualization is in sync with the actual turn signal animation? Mine doesn't line up.

Yeppers! Take a look at the glass roof visualization - it displays clouds when overcast, sun reflection on sunny days, rain when raining, starry sky on a clear night. Next cool thing would be the license plate showing your tag info.

I've now turned on the Traffic Light visualisations - they work really well. Even shows the colour on the light.

Good. That means you have been looking at the road instead of the IC. They first lit the brake light in version 3.x, 2013. But it wasn't on the IC. We had to press the T to bring up the side view of the car. We could see the brake lights come on when we started re-gen. Pretty cool. It disappeared for a while.

I drove my car a couple thousand miles before knowing that autopilot's only ready when the grey steering wheel icon's on. I was so confused why I couldn't use autopilot sometimes.
