I find that I use the rear camera way more on my Tesla then any of the last 3 car I've had that had it. I think it's mostly because it's so huge, and better lit that other cameras I've had. But I think it's also partly because the rear view mirror in the Model 3 sucks. The angle of the car the size of the mirror and the placement of the rear pillars make it essentially a blind spot nightmare, if it weren’t for fhe camera being so good I think I'd have a hard time reversing at all.

Camera itself is fine. However, the frame rate in HW3 cars is flat out bad, and it’s dangerous to rely on it in tight quarters because it can literally have micro-freezes, so be careful.

Also due to the ultra-wide angle it’s a little tricky to determine how close you are to objects, too.

Bottom line: use the backup camera but only in conjunction with your parking sensors.
