Can you share details on how you removed the trim to get access to the upper grille area?Hey Telsa Fans! Thought I'd put a write up on my dashcam, radar detector and parking sensors (laser jammers)

@Fezzik:
How did you secure your ALP sensors in the honey comb grill? It comes with the bracket. I assume you didn't use it and was using the pressure from the honey comb grill to hold it? Or did you glue it?
Also, with the radar sensor behind the nose cone, how good is the detection since it isnt fully exposed?

When the liner is out of the frunk, you will see 4 nuts that hold the plastic frunk in place. These are 2 different sizes. Remove these and remove the frunk. You are now left with this.
They lost half the frunk to relocating the coolant reservoir and 12V battery? WTF...
I have some foam tape that i put in there and was going to peel off both side. but its wedged in there so tight i just let the honeycomb keep in in place. Its been fine this whole time without any problems or moving. If it moves too much, then I'd secure it with the tape.
The radar behind the nosecone doesnt affect it hardly at all. I've also done this with my G37 and havent had any problems with it. I can detect signals from miles out on a long stretch of highway.
Also, with the STIR Plus receiver on top of the bumper behind the nose cone, I never get any KA bands going off. I heard that placing it behind the plastic may affect off axis coverage. Dead ahead, not much of a problem, but possibly off-axis?

OP, is your IQ 140+? Awesome work.
Thank you for these instructions and pics, they've been so useful! I'm on the part where you remove the plastic cover above the rear view mirror. The front sides came down a little after a good amount of pressure, but I'm concerned I might break the clips.Your welcome. Hit me help if you need any help on install.

Thanks!
Tifa I can't see your pictures, but it pulls down from the front if you mean the speaker-grill thing on the headliner. You have to be fairly assertive with most of the Tesla panels; they're designed tight to reduce rattles and squeaks.
If you mean the cover on the mirror base, that unsnaps from three points and comes off cleanly.
If I'm reading your post correctly, the clips are metal so it would be very difficult to break the clips. The actual clips attach to the plastic trim via sharp metal prongs. It's not unusual for the metal clips to separate from the plastic trim. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to loosen and reattach the clips. The clips can have sharp edges so you need to be careful when handling them.
