Does anyone have any new info on the three Tesla superchargers that are under construction on I40 between Little Rock and Oklahoma City? I am planning a trip in my 2015 Model S 85D and the Tesla trip planner shows these three under construction with a targeted opening of 2018.

Highly doubt that they are under construction. Those have been on the planed list for a couple of years now.

Thanks for your reply. It looks like I will have to go the southern route along I20 to Dallas TX and then I35 to Oklahoma City OK.

Yes, Tesla, at a minimum, need to get the Ft Smith location built and opened, and that would open up the I-40 corridor.

Also monitor the "Mountain / Southwest" section of this forum, as Oklahoma stations will show up in there.

Or just keep checking supercharge.info , which typically gets updated within 24 hours of any report here.

This is the biggest hole in the network south of North Dakota.

There are a lot of holes which are much bigger than this out west...but if you are only counting holes "along an interstate" then I think you are correct.

Since currently, all Superchargers are built adjacent to Interstate highways (with the exception of the new lower-power Urban-style superchargers), yes, I did mean along an Interstate.

That may be the case in Alabama. However, if you look at the rest of the country, you can see several Superchargers out west that aren't anywhere close to interstates. Take a look at Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, California, etc. Those states all have Superchargers that are not along interstates and are not the new Urban Superchargers.
