Have any 60s with late November delivery dates received a VIN?

Saw the blue devil in your name and NC... from the Triangle? I am trying to get a public charger installed in Pittsboro where we have an office. If I cannot get a generic DC fast charger, I may put in an HPWC for general use, partially fed by a 50KW solar system on site.

My P85 confirmed on 09/20... Listing 'November' as the delivery date.

Progress

S85. White/grey performance seats. CF trim. Pano. Tech. Parking sensors. Fog lights. 19" wheels. I think that's about it. Couldn't swing the P85, but I'm sure I'll be happy with what I ordered. Now if it would just hurry up and get here.
Well, I guess we are getting closer to delivery. Today I received the documents to e sign and instructions on how to pay. So I guess that is progress, although my dashboard says they are still looking around for some pests to make a car out of. I hope they find everything they need.

Yep almost finished. Remember the dashboard is not correct, so talk to your DS. IF they are asking for payment, that means things are almost wrapped up.

Yes, I'm in Raleigh. Keep me posted on how things are going with your work install. I'm getting started on my employer (the blue devil). Think it'll help when I finally have my car -- expected in December.

First time poster, don't know what I'm doing, but have a question. I reserved an S today, what will determine if the pink slip says that it's a 2013 model or a 2014 model? I was told that it's the year in which I "pick up the vehicle". If so, I might wait til January to take delivery.

Got my VIN yesterday, they say December 16th delivery. I'm on the East Coast. Sounds long to me if they have a VIN already. How long does it take (on average) after the VIN is issued to get delivery? Thanks, getting excited!

Welcome to the forums and Tesla ownership. :)

The VINs are assigned in batches and are given semi-early for getting insurance quoted and the like. Once you get your VIN is when you'll start working with your DS and they'll be able to give you rough estimates of when the car will go into production and when delivery could take place. The further out from your production schedule / delivery dates you are the more in flux the timing is. It doesn't really start to lock down until about 2 weeks out. Even then you can come across shipping issues or other delays that pop up last minute.

I guess we'll soon see an end of the year rush? Folks that want the car delivered before the end of the year for tax purposes? Better order soon!

I ordered early October, got my VIN today. I had already asked for late Dec delivery for this such reason. I could have got the car a bit earlier but I am paying cash and don't get a portion of of the money needed till mid December. I am doing a factory pick up in the 23rd just in time for xmas and the tax credit of course! I am doing the factory tour and they told me that it won't be 100% in operation so expect the holidays to slow production down. People that have not ordered already probably missed that boat already.

P85 metallic gray, tech, air suspension, light gray interior, piano black trim, parking sensors, fog lights

Ordered mine on Halloween, changed color from silver to gray after seeing in person at local Tesla store, confirmed yesterday 11/4/2013, received VIN today and contacted by my delivery specialist. Told my car will go into production on 12/9 with tentative availability the next week, plan to pick up at factory and take tour on 12/21, guaranteed before the end of the year.

Woohoo! Took a long time to get to this point, now I don't want to wait....

Ok, I'm going to go out on a limb here and ask this question. If no one wants to, then I understand, just seeing if I might get lucky.

I'm turning 30 in early part of July and would love to be able to take a tour of the factory. Would anyone who is picking their car up in late June/early July let me come along to the tour as their +1? I live in Texas and we would take a family trip to CA just to be able to do this for this big birthday. I'm a shareholder, a believer in the company and Elon, and in EVs. It would be a year to remember if this could happen. Thanks! :)
