The latest update was about :
  • easier manual adjustment of windshield wipers (with scroll wheel) INSTEAD of making the software better in recognizing the amount of rain
  • adding Audible INSTEAD of adding Google Auto (that has all these functions)
  • adding games INSTEAD of ensuring that the car can achieve the posted mileage
Tesla is pushing innovation. I am so ... unimpressed...

Looking forward for the next round of fart sounds... SO FUNNY (for children)

  • Could have done nothing instead.
  • Why would they add a third party software when their first party software is better than exactly 100% of other auto manufacturers? Again, could have done nothing.
  • How do you expect them to increase aerodynamic efficiency via a software update?

I can agree with the last point. They probably cant. What they could have done, however, is set the advertised range in line with reality.

About the wipers. Tesla implemented the vision only when it was not ready to detect rain properly. They hope to fix it in the future. Please replace your ‘Could have done nothing instead' with ‘they could have relied on existing solutions that work, are tested and approved’, such as normal rain sensors (and also parking sensors).

We bought those cars with real money. A rain sensor has been installed in cars since more than 15 or 20 years. And they worked perfectly.

Perhaps it is time for Tesla to admit they rely on future developments and their cars are a beta version.

They literally say they are in beta already…

Tesla will not, nor doesn't need to add Android Auto/Apple Carplay, They've said that and shown that over the years.

The Energy and Nav screens could help the driver increase efficiency by showing instantaneous Wh/mi, projecting the trip efficiency and destination SoC at multiple speeds, recommending a max speed over a tight run to the next charger (like ABRP does), and estimating the impact on destination SoC of choices like seat heaters vs. HVAC, chill mode (if it helps), and TACC (if it helps).

There's room to make the Energy screen easier to operate and understand.
