Looking at the used market for a Tesla Model S

We bought a brand new Honda Prelude 2.2i VTEC 2+2 coupe at your stage in life for us back in 96.

Oh the Prelude is one fine looking car, saw one recently and it probably one of the few 90s Japanese cars that still look great today.

The only car I wish I never sold was the DC2 Integra R, infact if I had just declared SORN in 2007 and kept in a garage rather than PX it would be worth more now than what I paid for it!!!

Still want one at some stage but with a view of doing an EV conversion.

Between the X and DC2 though I would still take the X......the Model 3 though must be amazing to drive given how much smaller/lighter than the X it is.

There is something about Honda DNA :) Looks like mine was the same colour as yours too. That VTEC dual profile cam and the 7000 rpm rev limit (more for your DC2 of course) and 4-wheel steering, so last century but I'm quite sentimental actually!

This might be of interest to anyone looking at CPOs offered by Tesla - my 70D was secured at £43,800 today. On Monday it was almost £2K more expensive at £45,700. It was originally priced £49,100 when first listed on 13th April. Most days this week the price reduced by £200 a day.

I had no idea and only requested a chat with the Tesla used salespeople to clarify their warranty (I had convinced myself they only extended the years, not the mileage limit). I then realised the price, with the 4 years/50K miles warranty reset, was suddenly very attractive. My wife and I decided very quickly to secure the car.

I was able to see the price history on tesla-info.com (UK used inventory). This is a very handy site if you are looking for a used Tesla! I have no connection at all with them by the way.

Even better news - our 70D is, in my view (though I'm biased!) clearly the best value used 70D out there, and the CPO warranty is practically a bonus. After a few pangs about giving up the cheaper but much higher mileage no-warranty 85D we waited for so long, I'm now really happy! :)

Well done. I have just done pretty much the same thing - although I have had mine for a couple for weeks now. I think the Tesla warranty is awesome. Tesla pricing, being Dutch auction style, is almost addictive watching the prices come down. I got a good deal on a P90D which not only had dropped in price but got specced up to Ludicrous overnight. The buying process is interesting.

P90D, wow! :D We'll start saving now for the next one, looking at a late as possible longer range AP2 Model S with the free supercharging :) We should be well inside the warranty too.

have my wife and friends in nervous giggles after they experience the acceleration for the first time

My biggest Tesla regret was NOT fitting a passenger-facing dashcam / GoPro before taking family and friends for joy ride demos. Would have loved to have a collection-video of their expressions. You need one with an audio recorder too of course :)

I (now) have a GoPro rip off ... it has very high consumer rating - if anyone wants a Sports Camera and doesn't want to pay GoPro sticker price I can recommend it. I've got the 90-Quid model because I specifically wanted time-lapse and loop recording, but if you don't need any of the options on the high-end models then 40-Quid one will do you. Comes with a box of all sorts of adaptors, including weather-proof stuff, as standard. It will record about 2 hours (in one "shot"), although less than that if you need to have real-time WiFi delivery to your phone - because you've strapped it to your Wife's hang-glider / whatever :)

Be careful about getting a Class 10 SD card, not exceeding 128 GB, but I think that's the only thing to ponder.

Crosstour Action / Sports CT9000 Camera 90-Quid model and 40-Quid one, there are also a couple of inbetween-models

Amazon appears to be running a 10% of voucher until 5th May ... fill your boots :)

P.S. I see my Amazon Links have been tagged with TMC Monetarisation code, so if you use that link to buy with them TMC will get a few pennies to run this forum :)

Talking of flying-start-passenger-reaction launch ...

...I still have my winter tyres on.; I could absolutely swear that the gut-wrench is more than I remember it, could the Winter Tyres be gripping more?

I've done a few launches on my own and had to back off. I don't remember ever doing that once on Summer Tyres.

Maybe I've been Uncorked without realising it (didn't think that had happened on P models?). If I've had an accidental upgrade I'd best keep quiet !

We ordered last Friday. However no call yet from a delivery specialist. We've ordered to collect from West Drayton (Heathrow).

I have been in touch with the delivery team because we are trading in a car that has a cherished plate and requested advice on the transfer process. I'm now waiting for a new V5C for the car we're trading in, so that, unfortunately, might become the bottleneck.

The ROLEC wall box is being installed tomorrow!

@jaitch Out of curiosity, was yours new or used? If used, did your documents online include instructions for using a Chademo adapter? I'm just wondering if our car has one courtesy of the previous owner. One can hope!

Used/CPO and yes the Chademo manual was included in the documents (for some reason) and no it is not included with the car! I did get a brand new type 2 cable though.
