I know all the new V4's are open to all but there's still only about 20 sites open to non Tesla's. I also know my fear is irrational considering I got my first Tesla in 2017 when there weren't even 20 sites in total in the UK and it was a Model S60D :D.

I quite enjoyed my Eletre test drive, although did miss the Tesla one pedal driving. It's been interesting reading some of the owners reports on disappointing range and charging speeds (ignoring some of the obvs EV newbie comments) and that worries me. especially coming from the MS and SuC'ing...

    Tesla Alternative?

Lotus Eletre any good for you? I enjoyed the test drive I had and the golf clubs/trolley went in (that may not be important to you!).

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

I test drove the Eletre last week and enjoyed it very much. The range is nowhere near what I get in my Raven S but in truth these days I hardly ever go beyond the range, and it's becoming less of a problem even when I do. A key test was the golf bag and trolley - they went in without dropping...

    MY LEASE RETURN

Have a gander at this. It's a couple of years old but should give you a good steer. I don't suppose they'll care about the battery any more than they would about an engine.

    [UK specific] Software Update 2023.26

I'm on my second Model S and in both it has worked well - within the limitation that you have to stand close to the car. I use it least a dozen times a week when parking/exiting my office parking space. It continues to work despite the current problems being experinced by others (hope I haven't...

Yeah I know, but in fairness you'd had a Model S for years before so sort of knew what to expect ;)

    Model s headlight fault

To the best of my knowledge even later version have the same fault - the led's overheat. Whether it's been sorted witht the new MS I guess unless you buy a LHD you won't find out!

    Model s headlight fault

Don’t you just love Tesla for trying to sell you a part with known issues at full price, until you query it.

Advanced driving course in a M3?

I think if an instructor isn't aware of regen it would be a good idea to mention it, and also cover the scenario where in an ICE you'd lift off and maybe cover the brake. You wouldn't need to do this in a BEV which to the uneducated could be taken as not reading what's happening on the road ahead.

Advanced driving course in a M3?

Very well remembered by @WannabeOwner! I did the IAM in my Model S and manged a First :). It's all about maintaining the balance of the car and a smooth transistion between power on and off. It's not easier or harder, just different, but attention to the speedo is definately needed! I then went...

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

Thanks for posting this and a good watch. I don't think I've ever seen anyone get so excited about raising a spoiler! Coming from a Raven S I'm slightly worried about the range but in truth I rarely use the full capacity anyway. Definately on the short list.

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

I recall seeing posts from three members of the Owners Group saying they'd taken delivery, and one other who was waiting on his. I think they had some here for those who decieded that having waited this long and in the absence of an alternative bit the bullet and took one. It will certainly be...

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

It’s you guys I feel gutted for and I’d have been spitting blood over the way they allowed the ‘reservation’ BS to continue - if I’d had one. I have another year or so on my lease with Tesla and may try and extend it or buy the car. Not that I’m expecting them to change their mind but because...

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

Even when they did sell them it was always after the LHD market, but at the time they needed the sales to generate the revenue that allowed for the M3 to enter production. In fairness they alsways said that was the plan - Roadster to prove EV's could be fun, S/X to generate the income for the 3...

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

I can feel the sarcasm in this! According to the post by the Owners Club President on the FB group yesterday, they have locked in prices for those with pre orders until the end of the year. I'm not sure if that's the original pre-order price or current price tbh. He went on to say that the RHD...

    Fisker ocean - UK forum

Absolutely right, in the main the "old guard" or "legacy" offerings leave me cold. Often the EV is a rehash of the ICE model so flawed, and obviously done to save money and keep familiarity for their loyal customers. I mean, who needs a start button for goodness sake!

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

According to a Tesla showroom member of staff the reason the RHD cars have been pulled is due to mechanical difficulties in the switch from LHD. Please don't shoot the messenger, especially as the origin of the message is the most unreliable source possible on matter relating to Tesla cars. I...

Post 12/05/23 S and X announcement, LHD insurance quotes?

I wasn't in on any of them but during webinar sessions held yesterday when the good news was delivered, apparantly the Tesla rep suggested calling DL, as they are Tesla's 'preferred' Insurer (which actually dates back to the early years but that's another story). A few people did with the...

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

The only car on the horizon I can see being of interest is the Polestar 5. The Lotus Eletre might be an option but from what I've read is a bit of a lump. I've had a MS since 2017 and every year I've been intrigued to see what the market was going to offer as an alternative. Nothing ticks all...

    White Interior Thoughts?

I had black seats in my first MS and they aged horribly, despite me looking after them. I went for white the second time (on blue - lovely combo) and 2.5 years and 25k miles on I don't regret it for a second. I am a very fussy b@stard when it comes to dirt in my car so was very nervous, despite...

    Controversial Opinion?

Is it? I thought the NHS pension was linked to salary, not quite final salary anymore but career average earnings. Neither of these are directly linked to the contributions, which is the big attraction of "defined benefit" pensions. Are you saying the pension entitlement is based on the post...

    Controversial Opinion?

Yes, all things being equal a lower mileage car should be worth a bit more.

    Controversial Opinion?

My bold highlighting. Inertia has historically resulted in huge numbers of consumers not shopping around and just renewing and staying with the devil they know.

    Controversial Opinion?

I leased for the first time in Sept '20 (having PCP'd many many time previously) and it was pure maths. The total cost over the 4 years for my Model S was £10k more on PCP than on a Tesla lease (who were considerably cheaper than any other lease provider) . Knowing I wouldn't want to keep the...

Flimwell Supercharger - new parking fee?

I've never used it but reading the thread there's a tablet in the cafe to record your reg number. If the cafe is closed how is the ANPR going to know you're charging?

    2023.12...

Me too. I’m hoping it sorts out my rear view camera which since 2023.12.1.1 has been useless during the day - the white balance is off and it looks massively over exposed. Still, at least the USS’s still work 😂. The service centre have remotely looked at the car and are awaiting a part. I’ve...

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

Looks are subjective but I agree it's nice on the outside, shame about the inside and being a reverse Tardis. Build quality maybe a bit better and it certainly handles better - as you'd expect. But much less range, more expensive, less tech and no charging network makes it a compromised choice...

    Q4 collections, tales and experiences

The long and the short of it is they use the cameras for rain detection, not the cheap as chips sensor that every other manufacturer uses. It's been in "beta" ever since they activated the software about 7 years ago. For the first few months of my first Tesla they weren't auto at all!

Flimwell Supercharger - new parking fee?

The £4 per hour is the parking tariff, it's not part of the sentance advising that parking is free if using the cafe.

    Am I Charging Correctly?

I would remove that worry from your mind and just plug in. The car will be absolutely fine and you'll have on less thing to worry about - there's enough of that in life as it is :)

    Am I Charging Correctly?

Yes, you can use that which fires max heat to the screen and car. I must admit I've tended just to turn the climate on via the app as that is slightly more gental - I have read of a few windscrens seemingly just cracking. I suspect that's me just being overly cautious but given the difficulty...

    Am I Charging Correctly?

I would only add one thing to consider, and it's nothing to do with charging, but related to preconditioning the car before leaving on a journey. This has to be one of the best features of an EV, and I'm sure we've all had smug faces of late as the car does its thing and the neighbour is hacking...
