$4k less 30% for tax credit. so $2.8K for extra 25% production capacity. Not sure what your total cost is at this point--most likely above $16K, so cost/kwh should be averaged down. Trust me, you'll find a way to use up the extra capacity plus you'll love the fact that you really don't need to worry about turning off your lights :) Additionally leaves you optionality for EV in the future.

contract is 27.5K - net 12.5K

i currently use oil heat and electric for everything else (cooking, dryers, etc). i average about 450kwh a month. (current quoted 5 kwh system produces quite a bit more than this)

if i'm going to increase the system i will go up to 5.85 kwh hours (18 panels) and 2 powerwalls which raises the net price to 17.9K with the hope/goal of disconnecting from the grid completely, if possible. thereby, removing the monthly maintenance $25 fee charged by the electric company
