When i let off the pedal, the front motor has a pretty high pitch whine, is this normal? Regen is on standard, i opened a SC but they wanna charge me for the diagnostic so i wanna see if anyone else is experiencing this.

is it to a point where you can hear it very distinctively from the outside?Dual motor cars can torque vector regen braking so you will hear more noise in the front.
You can definitely hear it from inside the cabin. I dunno from the outside for obvious reasons but judging from people outside they don't seem to be alerted to the decel. I wonder if this is a case of being new to EV, and maybe Tesla's stronger use of regen?is it to a point where you can hear it very distinctively from the outside?
I came from an sr+ to an LR so it is technically new to me having the front motor there now. Just thought it sounds louder than normal but i'm not quite sure. You can definitely hear it from inside the cabin. I see, yea it would be a new thing for you since your regen in the SR is much more muted. In RWD cars, rear regen is not strong because of the braking torque, it needs to be balanced with the front This is something that made even F1 teams struggle when KERS first came out. Thus for you, you're going to have a shock as there is more noise in front.I came from an sr+ to an LR so it is technically new to me having the front motor there now. Took it into sc the other day and they said they will be replacing my front drive unit
they didn't, i have a 2018 with only 21k miles. She's going under the knife on the 25th of this month so yeah. The car drives fine however, it just has a loud whine.Did they give you any more details? How many miles on your vehicle?
Glad to hear they're going to get you squared away!
hard to say, i'd bring it so they can check it out.I have a whine too that sounds like a distant emergency siren. It's not that loud (my kids noticed it first). Normal?
Nearest SC is 3 hours away. I guess I'll bring it in if I have another thing to check (or it get worse). It drives greathard to say, i'd bring it so they can check it out.
