There was another thread about free 19" wheel upgrade or free color upgrade for on the ground vehicles for immediate delivery. This was pre Thursdays price reduction. You could ask them about the free offer if you take a 2018.
I ordered a LR RWD, and got the VIN, even picked it up a year ago. It's been an awesome car.
I’m shocked that it’s a 2018. I thought Tesla had sold all of its inventory for LR RWD after discontinuing it up until now. I guess I’m guaranteed a 2019 vin because I ordered white interior and that option wasnt available when the LR RWD was first made available.
Called Tesla and now I am waiting on 2019 VIN I am assuming it will be at least a month wait. The 2018 Vin was 0212xx, was not going to take something that was built around May 2018.
It was available as an “off-menu” item for about a week—the one week you could continue ordering the LR RWD even though the model had “officially” been discontinued. You had to jump through some hoops to get it. The white interior was never officially available for the LR RWD—meaning it was made to order and no inventory models exist.

They didn't make a Long Range in White Interior. There is a huge thread on it, and no one ever got one.
Here’s a new one. I ordered Model 3 online LR RWD yesterday at 11:00 AM Eastern time. 2 week delivery As I was building my car the specs said 325 range and 0 to 60 in 5 seconds. Six hours l get a VIN number which is a 2018. Delivery is tomorrow. Will my new car be th same as the current website says, or is this an OTA upgrade. or is the car locked at the old build specs.

Do they move inventory cars from different parts of the country? I ordered a LR RWD on Monday at 8PM Eastern, still no VIN
I got an email from a delivery specialist yesterday and she said there weren't any of my configuration and it would have to be built and shipped, but I have "within two weeks" on my order status screen *still*. She said 2-4 weeks is more realistic
I'm just curious if that means there's none of my configuration in *Atlanta* or if there really are none of my config anywhere in the US right now.
I'm also beyond the 24 hour quoted response time on my trade in valuation so I wonder if that is what's holding things up. Do they assign a VIN even if you have a trade in evaluation pending?
