If I had that, I'd wait more patiently, as I would not deliberately want a freshly updated car with very likely kinks and bugs, maybe wait half a year to a year?

Just an update here for long time lurkers. Seems like the quality is finally getting there, "The service advisor told us early on our visit that Tesla is so confident about the panels and doors, that they don't accept any requests to adjust them anymore" and also the "dreaded acceleration shudder seems to be gone for the model X".
