Don’t suppose you have a picture of that roof opening?
I tried to dip my hand in it so you can see it clearly. The couples taking delivery beside us had same issue but very tiny.

Congratulation. Make sure to post some pictures.
You should definitely be prepared for early delivery. My buddy ordered out of MD in mid May and his delivery is already scheduled for Friday. Looks like the only ones they are screwing is the people who ordered before the pricing increases. Not so sure this is not in preparation to lower the price, thereby making sure the higher priced cars can not cancel before a price reduction. They have both the rebate in 2023 and if they were to drop pricing slightly to spur on a demand surge, both would ensure all the higher priced vehicles would cancel. Just my current assessment of the BS going on.

That’s actually one theory I can get behind. Before I was pretty clear that it was becuase I have white seats, but the more I think about it - they want to cash in on those higher priced vehicles. May orders got in after the first increase, but before the second - so maybe a quick delivery after January?

Finally got everything scheduled for my delivery.

MSM - LRY5 - Black Interior - Gemini - Nothing Else
VIN: 2023 - Austin Build - 7SAYGDEEXPA0XXXXX
Location: Rockville, MD
Ordered: March 1, 2022
Delivery Appt: November 21, 2022
I’d be interested to see the differences in our cars. I just picked up an Austin build today but it was one of the last 2022’s.
Blue paint, Gemini wheels, black interior
Came with USS, trunk cover, and mud flaps, “wood” trim
No matrix, no new cameras.
Also ordered March 1
Looking over the car I saw no physical flaws. If I was picky I’d complain about the dust in the cabin everywhere. Not a thick layer but enough to be noticeable. I did have issues downloading games in the arcade which I submitted a service ticket for after soft reset did nothing.

Could you have declined it due to the dip? I am not sure if I would accepted it. I would want Tesla to fix it right then and there and not have a service appointment. How long do you have to wait for your service appointment, is it the next day?
I wanted to, but then we didnt drive there, we went with Uber, and i did not want to take Uber back. The appointment was set for tomorrow, so thats 3 days, amd its a mobile appointment, meaning they will come to the house.
Also, you basically have to accept the car before you can unlock and get inside, and you wouldnt be able to see such imperfection untill you open the trunk.

I hear it depends on the showroom. I went to the showroom where I ordered my car and asked them that I heard you cannot get into the car until you accept it. They told me no, that they let you inside the car and you can, sit in it play around but you cannot drive it. Once you are fine with it, then accept it in the app.

I guess it all bore down to the training the SA reps received.

With all the March orders pouring in and everyone is talking about Matrix headlights and cargo cover. Is the PPF on the rear rocker panel and rear mud flaps still standard on new Model Y deliveries? Just inquiring if this is still going to be on my checklist or if I should ask the SA when I pick up the car (not that my actual delivery is here) but just getting ready 🤣 . In any case, I am 1 week away from my earliest EDD (11/27) and nothing. Maybe I'll hear something tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath. Still no code for the mobile charging unit as well.

I tried to dip my hand in it so you can see it clearly. The couples taking delivery beside us had same issue but very tiny.
The Model Y Performance that I took delivery of in June had this same issue. I noticed it before signing any paperwork. The delivery specialist found a technician, and he simply pushed the headliner up, securing it to fasteners. So it is a ridiculously easy fix--the headliner simply wasn't secured to the fasteners.

In general, I recommend people stop freaking out about minor issues should they be present. Tesla does an outstanding job of fixing things should you find problems like this, even after delivery. The cars are amazing and you will love driving them (personally I now love NOT driving the car; FSD drives me everywhere and it's surprisingly relaxing).

You are right. The tech came today, it was a broken clip and he fixed it perfectly. A friend of mine that came to visit yesterday told me that one would have expected a car costing that much to come perfectly ok. I told him the car is perfectly ok, that was just a minor thing. Infact we dont see this much at dealership because when you buy new car at the dealers, most time the cars have been sitting there for few days and any minor defect might have been detected and fixed before interested buyer show up. But Tesla sell for us directly and most cars are picked up within 24hrs of its arrival at the SA (room for less attention to details) leaving buyers to be the ones detecting the defects.
I havent driven the car since we took delivery, my wife drove it home when we took delivery, then friday and yesterday with no complain. I am letting her catch all the fun since i am eventually going to be the primary driver.

Ordered March 14 2022
Passed on the first VIN that was scheduled for delivery on Nov 12 because I was waiting to close on a house
New VIN came a day aftet the 7 day hold expired. Asked to schedule delivery the next day. I selected Nov 23 for delivery but switched it to Carrier Direct Delivery as Mt Kisco is a 6+ hour drive for me.

Should be hearing from the carrier delivery team this coming week
