How much did it cost for the calipers and how much for the powered coat and where are you located?!

Well, I went with a package that gave me a good deal on tint, a carbon spoiler, powder coat wheels and calipers. (waiting for the tint still).

However, I have also got a different car just the wheels and brakes done. And it costs around 500 for the wheels and additional 150ish for the calipers if you do them individually in centralCal. If you can look into a package deal, you may also be able to find a good price.

I finally got a VIN 2 nights ago! My SA told me the car will probably be in KC by Dec 24 and then sent via third party carrier. Bank says car has no plates because they are not able to give temps for OK.
I guess temps will be placed in KC? Do you have any other info?

Congrats. Mine is "supposed" to hit Kansas City on the 15th.

I've seen photos of some deliveries here with MO temp plates but I don't know for sure what they are doing now since I don't have an SA. I have my tag from my previous vehicle and am allowed to use that for 30 days.

Keep Tag OK

"If you purchase your next vehicle from anyone other than a licensed dealership, the car will not come with a tag. There are two options for tagging the car:

If you do not have a tag from a previous vehicle, the car may be driven for five days without a plate. During these five days, you must have a copy of the bill of sale or the assigned title in the vehicle.

If you have a tag from a previous vehicle you have 30 days to transfer the tag/registration to avoid penalties. Then that plate may be placed on the newly-purchased vehicle. Additional penalties and fees will begin accruing after 30 days if you have not registered the new car."

This is very helpful. Thanks.
Enjoy you csr!!!

The account page has been having some issues loading for me today, but it just slowly came up and my date range (has been 12/17-12/31, ordered 11/9) had disappeared and was replaced by 5-8 weeks from original order date.

My SA told me early this week that I would get a VIN by the end of this week so maybe this has something to do with getting ready to update the page, but I’m more inclined to think that it indicates a delay. We will see.

I got my VIN today! Ordered 11/9, MSM LR AWD with aero wheels. Working out now when I’ll get delivery.

How much do they charge for a caliper painting?
As promised, here is my 2021 Model 3 LR, midnight silver with the refreshed 19 inch sport wheels powder-coated (also went with lime brake caliper powder-coat)

What are the logistics of getting this done? Leave car at their shop or bring in rims only? How long do they need car/rims? I’m sure all places are different but looking for a ballpark. Thanks!

So now there are actually quite a few 2021 LR M3s showing in my area and these do not include $1200 of transportation fee. I am going to call again as soon as they open and inquire about one of these. I don’t understand why I have to wait and then pay for transportation. This is getting a bit frustrating.

Good news!

I was looking through the new inventory page and I saw a MSM 2021 LR. Called as soon as the store opened up and they said that this model was not pre production and it was just produced and coming down from Fremont CA. Originally my config was WHITE 2021 LR. My SA matched it and as soon as he did, my page updated and it now shows MSM 2021 LR arriving with estimate date DEC 12 - DEC 17.
And VIN number shows up too! (11th letter being the M. Indicating the 2021 model)

now just a couple more days!!!:)

I tried this, the car showing in inventory hasn't been built yet. Decided to wait for my original order

Upon inspection of my vehicle I found two areas on the exterior that needed addressed for painting issues. A paint chip on drivers side front wheel well and one on passenger side back quarter panel. Delivery specialist told me their paint employee is off on weekends and they will take care of it Monday for me to pick up in the afternoon. They absolutely would not let me take it home. Actually the way the process was setup, I had to accept delivery before I could even get the doors unlocked. So I have not been able to look inside yet because I have not clicked "accept delivery" yet. He said they changed delivery policy about a month and a half ago.

Web page has updated to Monday delivery and blue "accept delivery" button is still there. I called and confirmed again that I do not need to accept delivery until I get there Monday. I was concerned of losing the car if I didn't accept it but he said not to accept it until then.

Obviously disappointed but I couldn't let the paint defects slide.

I tried the inventory trick again. Seems as though I chose the wrong Configuration. This time called a SC about 4 hours away with a Blue/Black listed. SA told me that they built the Blue/White first and Blue/Black was being built now. But he did inform me that it looked (and to take with a grain of salt) that the production order I was slated for is supposed to be finished tomorrow. So crossing my fingers that I’ll get a vin this upcoming week!
Kinda sucks that my SA can’t give this information and acts like they don’t have anything additional than what I’m seeing, but this guy was able to pull this after about 45 seconds looking on the computer.
Oh well, Here’s to hoping we all get our cars before the end of the year!!

Hope what you were told about the blue/black batch being produced now is true, since that's my config and I'd called about a inventory blue/black that my SA said wasn't built yet.
