Back to a TWO week window!! :)
We have the exact same configuration and located in the same area! Let’s hope we get a delivery at the same time!

I wanted to post this because it has a couple of interesting data points.

California (Northern)
M3 LR MSM 19" wheels
OD: 9/11/21
EDD: Bounced around too many times to count
Vin Assigned: 11/2
Put order on hold until 1/1
1/1 Changed order to Blue
1/2 EDD 3/10 - 3/31
1/6 EDD 1/12 - 1/26
1/12 EDD 3/6 - 3/31
1/13 EDD 1/15 - 1/26
1/14 VIN Assigned. 155XXX SA Confirmed Intel MCU
1/14 SA put order back on hold to unmatch VIN

1) Putting an order on hold does not seem to put you at the back of the line, which I think is pretty well established at this point.
2) Changing your order conf, while does reset your pricing also does not seem to put you at the back of the line, at least in my case. I found this interesting because this does seem to go against the popular theory.

The “config change does not reset your place in line” is definitely true. I changed my color and actually moved closer to delivery before putting on hold.

I think I might have one of the oldest OD's here, I've been waiting for a while 😅

OD 6/2/21 (LR/Black/White/Aero/No FSD)
6/22/21 Modified order to LR/Black/Black
7/3/21 Order placed on hold to wait for BBB
11/8/21 Hold timed out
11/8/21 EDD 1 Jan 13 - Feb 10
11/21/21 EDD 2 Dec 14 - Dec 31
12/2/21 Received text from Tesla asking if I still wanted to take delivery since not all delivery tasks were done, responded yes 12/4
12/26/21 Finished delivery tasks (loan application). Waited this long in hopes of pushing past 1/1/22
(not sure of date) EDD 3 Feb 1 - Mar 1

Not to be a Debbie downer here, but I received that text about 3 weeks ago. My EDD changed again since then. I am not even trading anything in, so yeah, I don't think that text is an indicator of anything really.
No worries, was not an expectation of anything just an update for the group. This is a 4th car for us so we are not necessarily in a rush........

After talking with a chat agent, I decided to bite the bullet and come into the waiting room.

Calgary, AB
White/White/18"/no FSD
OD: 01/15/2022

She said that while the website shows Est. Delivery March 2022, there are some customer accounts showing an ETA of Summer 2022.

Sounds like new orders could be pushed into the summer while the backlog of Q4 2021 orders are cleared.

After my EDD jumping from Jan 10th-Jan24th to Feb 18th-March 18th…3 days after the push out I received a VIN. I’m ready to get this saga over with and enjoy my car. I am taking delivery on next Sunday at home and was wondering if I can pay with a cashiers check when they drop my vehicle off or do I have to make payment prior to delivery? Also will I get time to look the car over or do they just drop it off and leave?

Congratulations!
What’s your OD and spec?

Not sure about how home delivery works these days, but when my friend got it the years back, the guy who delivered waited until we finished checking and then left.

That seems really unlikely to be true. I don't even need to look up the power draw of those chips to know that.

Let's say you're traveling 60 MPH at a good efficiency of 250 Wh/mi. That's an average power usage of 15,000 watts. In order to make a 2% difference in that the new computer chip would need to use 250 to 350 watts more power than the old. That simply isn't true nor would even be in the realm of possibility. I doubt either chip uses much more than 25 watts total.

Any range loss would be due to something else.
There is a good probability that I am wrong. But there is another article here on the same lines I mentioned earlier.

You know how "news" media is these days. They just quote each other in a circular fashion as their "proof."

But that article itself has a few points you should consider:
  • The rated range didn't go down in China when the change was made
  • The rated range didn't go down in the U.S. when the change was made
  • The rated range didn't go down for the Model Y when the change was made
