You wouldn't be in line because you'd already have the VIN. I might be wrong but since you'd have the final agreement wouldn't the loan offer be locked in?
Fair point but, with all of the other shortages going on in the world that has effected Tesla, I would have rather taken possession and parked it if given the option. Somewhere in this thread it was discussed that some cars were at least being delivered to the dealer with the port covered so maybe it was assumed that in some cases, those were possibly being offered to the new owner and fixed later. That is where I got the concern and wanted to let my SA know my intentions.

Still, I'd rather have the car in my garage than parked at the dealership. My store location has all the vehicles parked in a open parking lot shared with a huge indoor mall with no perimeter fencing. That means bored troublemakers could easily mess with the cars if they wanted to. Doesn't matter anyway as the SA confirmed my car is coming with the charge port. VIN ending in 246xx if that has any correlation.

Congrats!! I saw a bunch of 2/16 orders get their VINs yesterday, and now with you getting your VIN as a 2/17 order I'm desperately refreshing my order page lol
I didn’t even notice the change as I had already checked the app a few times this morning. The VIN number will appear in the upper left-hand corner under the order number. What caught me was my date range tightened up.

Good luck !!!!

Yeah I understand your point the only thing I'll say left is once you take that car off the lot it's YOUR problem and tesla is now working on your time not theirs. If you leave it there they remain responsible and are incentivized to get it fixed asap. However per your SA it seems like this is a moot point and all should be well. Best of luck

When is the expected date of a fed raise hike? Do you have any idea.
The Federal Reserve is expected to raise rates by 50 basis points at their May 3-4 meeting. Note that various lending rates may already be up in response to this expectation, so it's not clear if that meeting will have much of an impact on rates over the next month. What might move rates is the expectation of additional rate hikes. There's a lot of guessing and market-making involved.

Oh, and a reminder that this charge port thing is actually a chip shortage issue. It is the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) that manages charging that is missing. It's a circuit board that's housed in a small plastic box. That's what has to be shipped and installed. It apparently takes about 30 minutes per car.

Friends, today is my delivery day. I thought I had chosen Fremont pickup but not wanting to delay things further, I just stuck with home delivery between 4-6pm. My VIN is 238xxx and I will obviously report back on mobile charger/charge port/matrix lights and anything else you guys are interested in.

Financing through Tesla (done) and my Tesla insurance starts today (much cheaper than any of the traditional carriers for me). Cashiers check in hand but will talk to the delivery specialist and inspect my car before handing it over.
