I'm a little over 48 hours away from Graduation Day. Haven't heard anything from any SA's, so I assume everything is on-time and good to go.
Put gas in my car yesterday, hopefully for the last time. $5.49 a gallon here in the Phoenix area.
Laid out my backseat floormat so it'll lay nice and flat in the car.
Ordering a few more accessories while I pass time the next two days.
Going with the fam to see Bob's Burgers this morning.
Monday is going to be a long day.
Best of luck with the new ride. My delivery l is almost exactly the same time (June 7 @ 11a EDT) in Jersey. Killing the time cleaning and painting the garage. So close……

Hello!

I’m about ten pages behind on this thread, but did you play with the seat positions so that when you get in the car, the seat is at its lowest (and maybe farthest back) even if you drive it in a differently adjusted configuration? I’m much shorter, but always set my seat to be lower and farther back when getting in and out.

Todd
I did this and still hit my head. Even with modifying the position of the driver’s seat and getting out and getting back in didn’t feel comfortable either. Again it will require some getting used to. Unfortunately I would have to forfeit my $250 deposit towards my M3 order and wait a whole year for the base MY if I wanted a bigger car. When I get in, then I start to change around stuff like side mirror, steering wheel, and the seat position.

MY is nice. The only things I dont like about the MYLR are tiny rear window glass, weird chunky non-sporty look and non matrix headlights.

Received okay news today. my financing rate/loan expires this month because my third EDD was in mid May. So I called just in case to talk to someone about what the next steps will be if I don’t get a car assigned when it expires since my newest EDD has been a steady July-Oct for almost 3 weeks. And he said since everything is good on my end and I’ve been waiting for almost 90 days I should hear something very soon maybe even before my financing expires on the 28th. It’s not for sure and he may be lying but it made me feel a little better. 🥲 seeing people with ordering dates later than yours and having a car sucks lol so happy for you but so envious at the same time. 😆

I literally forgot about the rear window. It is so badly small. You’d have to be super dependent on the side mirrors to see who’s behind you. I think the MY is perfect for families and how big you are. But I’ll be riding the M3 for some three years and trade it in for the MY. Hopefully the same situation we’re in now isn’t the same by then.

The west was severely behind. Thank goodness as an eastern guy that they shifted their priority to the west. I’m glad Giga Texas will soon serve the east and Fremont will hopefully prioritize more for the west, which would probably make things much better.

EDIT: Did some research, Giga Texas will indeed serve the east orders. But for now all of us will get it out of Fremont.

I’m sitting on a 12-day after upgrading to the P. I’m guessing they’re in early-mid April? Anyway, 10-day is probably a great sign that a VIN is around the corner.
Unless things have changed, Giga Texas will supply MYs and CyberTrucks, not M3s.

Omg guys got an updated EDD today of June 18th-June 22nd. Final payment was also requested on tesla and found the VIN in the source code but its not shown in the app!!! Vin is 272. Only issue is ill be in Jamaica those dates mentioned above so im hoping tesla will work with me so i can either get the car before or on the 23rd :/
Went to Tesla today to sort out the delivery. Delivery date is now June 23rd!

GRADUATION DAY!!!
OD: 2/17
VIN: 254XXX

Everything went smooth, place was absolutely packed. Did a trade in & they didn't even look at he car, could've gave them a lemon.

Having never been in one before I had my concerns, but man this car is everything and more! Absolutely love it! Looking at doing the Prefomance boost but honestly not even sure it needs it, this thing is fast!

Here's mine, all- picked up yesterday. After driving it for a day, not having matrix lights doesn't bother me. The reflector lights do a great job and I think visually, the old design looks better than the new ones. At least I got Michelins.

First step for me was to remove the aero covers and place the hubcaps on.

Also, when I was picking up the car (center is on a busy intersection), some loud trucks decided to do some coal rollin' right past the center ... talk about having a small pair of balls...

Congratulations on the new car, @Lukeb5301 :)

Edit: And @Wingstoplol :)

Electric cars really deserve a new word other than "car". It's just not the same as an ICE vehicle. Ironically, there are plenty of people who don't seek out the changes, and really just want their current car in an electrified format. No center screen with 1000 functions, cameras, self driving, and so on. Times change slowly, i guess.

Same here. Of course, there's no need for the delivery folks to look. Tesla will check the vehicle afterwards and if you misrepresented it you'll be hearing from the Tesla legal team. That's part of the reason that I like Tesla's sales approach; it's spread out over time, and different specialists handle different aspects of the sale. Because it's spread out, the buyer has time to shop around their trade-in, as well as their financing. By the time of delivery day, everything has been worked out and it's ultimately just handing over money for a car. All the terms have been worked out in advance. As someone who has had to haggle over every car he's ever bought, it's a refreshing change. I feel like I'm working with adults again.

Checked my phone after and amazing Phillies walk-off victory (sorry Angels fans), to find that the app updated with a 272XXX VIN. Double win.

New EDD is June 20-24. Which kinda stinks because I'm going to be out of town on the 23rd and 24th. Not really something I can change plans on.
Looks like you have the Phillies to thank for your VIN luck.

Here's a little information from the Model 3 order spreadsheet. This data is only for Model 3 Long Range orders in the US, and remember that the data is not even close to being exhaustive.

For the following I've defined "west coast" as CA, WA, OR, NV, AZ, ID, MT, WY, CO, and NM.

1. This is a scatter plot of dates where VINs were handed out, colored by west coast versus east coast. The date markers along the bottom indicate the start of each quarter. The vertical axis is just the delay between ordering and getting the VIN, and it is primarily used to space out the data points. The pattern seems pretty clear that there is a quiet time at the start of the quarter, then east coast VINs go out, followed by west coast VINs. Some quarters are more striking than others in adhering to the pattern.

2. This is the same style scatter plot for dates of vehicle delivery where the vertical axis again indicates the delay between order and delivery.

Note that 60% of orders on the spreadsheet are for eastern states.
So looking at this chart, does that mean if my EDD is September - Oct 14 and I’m east coast , that my chances are good to be on the earlier side of that window?
