alright gents,
TL DR - charged to 299 miles as the epa specs say on the tesla site. 100%.
today i went to an urban charger (74kw max) --usually my go to since its in a COVERED park garage-- and charged from 23% to 100%. it took nearly 2 hours (1:50) to charge. i had 65kw all the way until about 80 or 85 soc, then it tapered off as expected. the last 10 % took probably 30 minutes.
i have only charged the car 4 times prior to this and all were superchargers, and only to 90%, so the first 100 since taking ownership on march 27 (born on march 20th).
charged to 299 miles, which is what is on the EPA thingy on the cars page on the tesla website. so seems i am getting whats to be expected if I max the charge.
what was cool to me is it seems the BMS was actually doing its thing and making sure all the cells were at the same capacity. i would see the kw hours go to 0 then my added "+kw" number on the right side dropped one number (+60kw tro +59kw) a couple times-- this suggests the bms was "burning off" (my term) charge in cells that were higher than others. the time left meter woudl go to 0 minutes then to 1 minutes for like 7 minutes.
it finally said 100 % and the charge was done.
one thing i was NOT expecting was how regen braking worked after that. i saw a message that stated regen would be reduced a bit but didn't understand that until i got in traffic-- i was coming to the first stop light and let my foot off the accelerator , only to find out the car was not stopping like ive been used to. "ooh that's what 'reduced regen braking' means" , i said to myself.
and then i saw dots on the line up there for the first time...
baby steps gents.. im still learning this car after a couple weeks...
