I used to commute through much of Wairarapa and lost count of how many screens I had to have replaced every year, so given how easy it is to pick up a crack on any of the thousands of KM of roads that get "maintained" by throwing loose gravel on top of a thin bitumen layer for the public's vehicles to bed in, we figured we'd pay the extra and rest easy that we won't pick up a bill of several thousand dollars through no fault of our own.
