Model 3 Window Tinting - GTA

@TrevTremaine - I may have gone to Fabian after you (which was in May of this year) and he is no longer doing windshields. He said there was a Model 3 owner that did it at a competing shop and it shorted out the main screen and the repair was not covered by warranty, so Fabian says he won't do the windshield's anymore for warranty reasons.

Good to note. It only takes a single case to kill it. Sadly, it does make a huge difference and Tesla doesn't offer glass all around that helps to mitigate this. I guess it's time to start a petition to Tesla to offer it.

Got mine done at TintWorld in Mississauga and very happy with the facility, work, staff, and the job overall.

Suntek Ceramic, laser cut tints: 30% all sides, 20% rear, 90% entire roof.
I noticed an immediate reduction of radiated heat into the cabin :D
Very happy with the performance and look!

I usually get my tints done at Audioheaven in Richmond Hill. Been going there for my other cars for the last 10 years.

They did my Model 3 this past weekend, didn’t do the rear window because they don’t have a cutter for a 60’ piece of tint so I just did the side windows.

XPEL Ceramic, 35% front, 20% rear.

PSA: warn your tinter about the window glass scratching the chrome surround if they’re not careful and try to close the door when the windows are at the top position. Share this video with your tinter to make sure they’re aware:

at least for me, after my tint was done, and i put the windows down after the 5 days. the driver side window did not auto open or close. it had to be re-calibrated.

When I've tinted my cars in the past, the recommendation was not to roll the windows down for a couple of days. Since the Model 3 always rolls down a little, my concern is I won't be able to use the car for a couple of days as well. Did the shop say anything about that?

They laser cut the tint and installed it below the door trim with the window slightly down. They said not to roll down the windows for 4 days.

Anyone get tint done at Auto Links? They use Llumar F1 Pinnacle

I did my 2008 GTI at Auto Links, they were good. I had my car for 5.5 years and no issues with the tint. I got the Solarguard from Auto Links.

The windows going up and down when you open the door is common for cars with pillarless doors. My tinter recommended I don’t roll down the windows fully for 3 days, and I’ve been using the car normally for the last 3 days without issues after getting tints installed.

Another car of mine is also pillarless and we got tints with no issues using the car right afterwards.
