Model E same size as Model S?

I was under the impression that Model E will be smaller than the Model S.
But it doesn't appear to be the case based on this article:

Tesla says no Model E next year | T3

According to Holzhauzen [Tesla's chief designer], the Model E will be a
similar size to the more expensive Model S, suggesting it will be a
saloon. However, he said the car will have a distinct design that would
mark it out from the Model S.

Reporters get things wrong all the time. And the headline "Tesla says no Model E next year" sort of implies that they are not quiet familiar with Tesla, and their offerings and their schedule.

I fully expect the Model E to be ~A4, BMW 3 series sized sedan/wagon.

The Model S is very large. No other manufacturers have two vehicles offered in that size. So I highly doubt it will happen.

This has been discussed before.

Very interesting interview with Elon when he was in Germany recently. Nothing new but he did indicate Gen3 would be "maybe 20% smaller then the Model S" not 10%. (@11:10) May need to change the poll:smile:. Also glad he stated the car would cost half of the Model S. Much better to avoid quoting a specific dollar amount IMO which can only come back to haunt Tesla when the price quickly exceeds $35k for most buyers.
