I visited my car yesterday.
I drove over to the Costa Mesa service center, parked on the street, then just started walking around checking out all the black Model Ss with 19"s. It was pretty cool to see >30 Model Ss all in the same place. Even though I think I still would have chosen black, it would have been a good idea to go by the service center to check out all the different colors before ordering. That dolphin gray is a really nice color that just didn't show well in the dark parking garage when I did my test drive.
I finally spot her, #1550x, parked in the back in the sun with plastic bags still over the seats and dust and compounding material (?) all over the hood. But she's there and she's mine.
Now I just have to wait some more (until Tuesday!) for my delivery appointment. I'm hoping someone might cancel and there might be an opening for me to pick her up sooner, but I haven't heard anything from my DS yet.
I did notice something surprising - the radio was somehow set to a Green Bay Packers "Greatest Hits" song/album. I am a
huge Green Bay fan and found this setting to be an incredible coincidence, until I remembered that I had been wearing a Green Bay jacket when I did my test drive and ordered the car at the Brea store. I guess the Product Specialist who helped me made a note in my file and the factory team somehow found a Green Bay track on the radio? Does that even make sense? Did any of you find a little personal touch like that when you picked up your car?
