So far, we've got 8 cars who have indicated that they want to join. I guess that will pick up if we advertise this some more.
Assuming we left early morning from central, lunch in Stanley would be too early. Based on the last time, we'd need something further west (airport, etc). The other issue is parking - Stanley is a pain on Sundays. That is really an issue at any place. For the stops, we either need wide open spaces, or pre-arranged group parking. That said, the last Tesla Link event at Stanley had special parking arrangements for a mini roadster rally we did to there - if we ate there, perhaps something could be arranged. But, I still think airport is better timing-wise.
I like the idea of CWBGCC - a really nice drive out there, and it adds some miles to the trip. Should be some amazing photo opportunities. Ending up there for tea would be good. Perhaps you can ask to see if it would be possible? Estimate about a dozen cars.
If we want a circular route, how about starting at Kai Tak? That is closer to the suggested clearwater bay end point, and a fast top-up charge for those coming from afar. Also quite easy for eastern tunnel then south of the island. Stop around Stanley for a meet-and-greet. Then on to the airport. Then, up west and north to Sai Kung?
I am surprised there are only 8 cars - I was afraid it would be over-booked quite fast. By December, I am sure there will be lot's more interested in the rally. To the extent it fits into my work and play, I am happy to contribute in the planning and logistics (as noted in PM)
Thanks. I'll be setting up the whatsapp groups in the next day or two.
Regarding numbers, we've only been able to advertise to a very small group so far. The roadster owners I know of (perhaps 20) plus Hong Kong Model S owners who frequent here. If we can finalise the plans more (exact route, exact stops, exact costs), we can evangelise further and I am sure the numbers will grow. Just not sure if "FS 1" will attend
