Hi,
I'm scheduled to pick up my first Tesla in 3 days, on Aug 26. I got a text from someone on Aug 7 saying my VIN had been assigned. They didn't identify who they were, but the number is 510 area code so probably SF? Is the person who texted me my DS (Delivery Specialist)? I'm in NJ, in the NYC metro area, so I'm scheduled to pick up the car at their service center in Springfield, NJ. My loan/financing is set up with Tesla (via US Bank). When do they normally start sending out PDFs for the loan documents? I have not been contacted yet on the loan details, or how to send them the deposit due for the loan. My other question is, can I use my CC for the loan deposit? Do some people take care of all of this on the day of delivery, in person, at the service center? Today I texted similar questions to the Tesla rep who text me and am waiting for their reply. But I'm hoping for some feedback here on what will be happening over the next 3 days . . .

Order RN11798XXXX 10/11/2022 MX Plaid; Pearl White; 22" Turbine Wheels.
"November/December 2022"

Let me know if I should enter this myself in a spreadsheet.

Is there a FAQ for ordering, communication, and timing of things like charger install, trade-in and financing? Do I get some kind of 30 day notice to get those rolling?

Question - at what point can I expect my Model X to be a 2023 Model Year? I'd hate to get shafted on delivery wait time and get a MY2022 in December of 2022.
Tesla don't have "model years." They continuously update as features are changed, and there is no transition to a new model year. They simply have production and delivery dates. Used buyers should know that.

Well Tesla might not but you can still tell by the VIN number and once you list the car some day on cars.com or anywhere, you'll have to put in a model year. At that point it won't matter if Tesla officially uses MYs or not. It's important for reference so you know what/what not to expect to be on the car physically. So while you're right that Tesla generally doesn't use MYs (anymore), there are still Model Years - if that makes sense.

My wife has an X Plaid on order for delivery December-January, and I told her that it it pushes into the new year, it's a silver lining to have a 2023 for no real reason except slight resale value.

I ordered my Model X in August 2022 and settled for 10-12 months wait. My delivery date range was March - June 2023 but as of two days ago changed to Feb 6th - Apr 9th. And today app is showing the VIN of 2023 Model X on my order - 7SAXCDE55PF365XXX. Is this a mistake? Not sure what is going on. VIN number is pretty low compared to what I have seen in the spreadsheet but it is still 2023. Plus seems very early to have a VIN 4 months before estimated delivery.

Got an email "Based on the delivery date of your Model X, you will receive a Tesla Shop promo code closer to your delivery date that you can redeem for Tesla Mobile Connector or put toward the purchase of Tesla Wall Connector."

Anyone else's delivery date just completely go away and is now replaced with "Delivery date TBD shortly"?

6 seater FSD Grey/Black order in March '22. Had anywhere from Dec '22 to April '23 as estimated delivery - moved a few times up and down. Now...just TBD.
