Model X Self-presenting front door

Hello All, I took delivery of my Model X p90d last month and have been trying to get the "Self-Presenting" front door to work. I really like the feature allowing me to have my hands full (on the phone or laptop bag, etc) and having the driver's door open automatically. Even if I decided not to use them everyday I still think it is a "cool" feature.

So from what I read if I have the "Auto Door" setting to ON, this feature should work as described triangulating the fey fob's location. When I took delivery of my Model X, it was the only thing that the Delivery Specialist didn't demonstrate. I cant for the life of me get this feature to work with either of the Key fobs.

I spoke with my Service ranger and he came by to reset everything and attempt to get it to work but with no luck... I have done some searching and really have not found too much on this topic.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Am I missing a toggle or setting somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As in my post, the only setting I can find is the "Auto Door" function, and it has been in the ON position and I have cycled it on and off a few times to check. Is there another setting that I am not seeing somewhere?

Thanks for the quick responses!

When we first got our X back in March the door would not autopresent for my key but it would for my wife's key. The service center was going to order a key for me, but then there was a software update and my key suddenly started working. No explanation though.

Also another data point. I tend to keep my keys in the same front pocket as my cell phone (Samsung GalaxyS 7) and many times the sensors don't pick up my key correctly. I've kept the auto presenting doors off from day one due to this and their lack of ability to not always bang into things.

I appreciate all of the responses!!

I have pretty much tried everything:

-resetting
-restoring
-change batteries in Key Fob
-Try both key fobs
-Move keys around to see if the door will recognize
-Approach from every angle
-cycle "Auto Door" on an off a few times
-Turn car "Off" from display
-This was the same for the last 2 software updates as well.

My service guy, as great as he is, places this on a low priority unfortunately.

Is the car locked?

What happens when you open the driver door from the 17" screen? How far will the door open? You might try resetting the driver door opening limit. Also, I always approach the drivers door from the back - any other approach can cause the door sensors to stop the door opening.

I do have the auto-lock when walk away feature on. My X has never once opened the front door for me with the auto-present feature. I have approached now for a month in various ways and it has never worked.

When I open the driver door with the screen, it opens about 80% (my estimate) I can then push it a few more degrees to fully open 100%.

Not sure, and my Tesla Service guy doesn't really have anything for me. (yet)

Maybe you have a 90D in P90 PUP clothing. Just kidding.
Many with auto present turn it off in annoyance. I have non PUP 90D that auto presents with key fob double click 10% of times. Can't figure that gimmick out and no one else can do either.

I appreciate all of the responses. I still have had no luck at all getting this to work and my local Tesla Ranger has had no solutions for me. I saw that in 8.0 that the release notes stated that the behavior of this feature has been improved.

I have since installed 8.0 with still no luck at all. I would love for this feature to work for me!
