When researching storing skis in a model X I have not come across this, but wanted to share it as I think it is super useful.
Problem. Don’t want to hitch. Stuffed car with 3-4 adults and baby seat so no folding seats.
Solution. Smaller skis across under back seats. Longer skis front to back under front passenger seat. No ski bags unfortunately.

Recently did a trip with my sons skis which are approximately 160 CM and they fit perfectly on floor falcon wing to falcon wing.
Now need my skis also. They are 177cm but a bit longer should fit also. At first elevate the front passenger seat butt cushion as high as it goes. Stick them in together and locked through open falcon wing going towards driver. Need to rotate partially somewhat to fit the bindings. DANGER POINT, careful not to scratch car outside towards back with edges as putting them in. Also make sure not to slice wiring under seat with edges.
