Model X Tally

Yes, there are good reasons to hide this information, as there where also with patents.

The info could be: "Hey look we have so many Model S-D orders and some came from MX, because the D is such a great product and success. So we are happy to tell you, if you like SUVs and even want the next great Tesla Model, then there are new reservations possible, even for the SiGs."

And while we are so convinced of our products, and don't fear bad press, why not give the people a new updated reservation number?

Just a thought, I like the way tesla did with the patents, would love to be surprised with this too.

Would even more love to see the real-X within the next weeks, not months.

It's Christmas time - big kids have their wishes, too.

SUV, large og small with 4x4 sells realy good in Norway, think the reason why people have moved to the D versjons for model S is because the AWD and the posibility for higher price on X.
The Model S, just got 8-9.5% more expensice due to low currency value, due to lower oil prices. And people is also thinking our goverment will tax the EV from 2016 and make the X even more expensive.
Better with a Trsla D than no Tesla. ;-)

I reserved a couple of weeks ago, I see that there have been about 100 reservations in 2 weeks. I am disappointed that I have to wait at least 15 months, painful. We are a one car family, I do not drive, the car is for my wife.

I saw that they are increasing the roadster range to 400 miles. I hope that they update the Model S and X to that range. I realize that the battery cost is high and that the Model X is a heavier car than the roadster. I would have no problem paying an additional $10k for that range.

Would cost more than 10k to add that amount...

I just updated the reservation speed spreadsheet with an estimated first delivery of 9/1/2015 in the S-X compare tab here

This is great, thank you. Looks like between the D and a fatigue with delays, we have slowed. When the X reveal comes, I expect numbers to be at least double the previous high averages if not more (meaning daily reservations above 60+/day). You can see the S surge with the Motor Trend COY news and with the end of 2012 price increase announcement. It would be great to win the COY for X in fall 2015. I suspect as we near the end of the $7,500 tax credit with 200,000 vehicles (domestic sales I believe) we'll see a similar rush. That's probably early 2017 and likely happens before the Model 3 comes out.

Tax credit will be gradually phased out for a year after domestic sales reach 200k. It is not a hard cut off. 50% for the first 6 months of the phase out period then reduced to 25% for the next 6 months. That is why it will be critical to place your Model 3 order as soon as possible. You may not get the full $7,500 but you will likely get some credit depending on your tax situation.

Aronth5 - Your elaboration is spot on. I happen to think that the end of he $7500 portion of the credit will be the biggest psychological factor driving sales, not, for example, when it transitions from 50% to 25% or even when it transitions from 25% to 0%.

Perhaps TESLA will offer some kind of credit / discount if the tax credit is gone.

About 5 years ago ACURA offered a $8,500 discount for a short period of time on the MDX. They sold out very quickly and people were driving them everywhere in our area.
Down side is, the used ones are now hard to sell since there are so many of the same vintage on the road.
