Moving with Wall Connector

I am moving and will take the WC with me.

After the uninstall (and installing the wire nuts on the 3 6 gauge wires), I was wondering if it is necessary to get one of those electrical boxes and place the wires in there (vs just pushing them back into the wall) before putting on a blank wall plate to cover the hole.

The breaker will always remain labeled and remain turned off of course.

IANAElectician but basically you need to put wire nuts and electrical tape over the exposed ends and put them in a closed electrical box—exposed wires are a big no-no, just in case someone turns the breaker on by accident, the breaker fails, there's a lightning strike that energizes the wires, etc etc etc.
