To disconnect, "press and hold the connector button"

Really? On mine I just press it and let go. I then here it unlock, and then I can remove it.
For some people that works sometimes--good for you.
But for me and plenty of other people, the car will immediately relock the charge port onto the cable when the button is released, so press and hold is needed to keep it unlatched so you can pull the handle out. So "press and hold" is foolproof and always works for everyone.
