New/Better Subwoofer for Tesla Model Y!

First off... The Tesla model Y sub sounds good. Now... it sounds incredible! I love turning my music up loud and actually feeling the music.

I found a mobile audio company in Orange County. They took the stock sub box and swapped the stock with a Kicker 8” sub woofer. They installed the amp towards the front of the model Y under the center console. So it’s stealth! Can’t tell that anything is installed until you feel it.

Ahh those days when I would put two Alpine Type-R 12's in the back of my Honda Prelude and actually thought all the rattling was cool and soothing to the ears.

Thank goodness my current Playlist with likes of Hans Zimmer will not require such magnitude of low frequency...

I was wondering the same thing. I would think it was due to the AC being on during the install.

And adding another amplifier. It won't be stealthy to Tesla techs during repairs. And pray that wiring didn't tap into anything that will cause electrical problems that will allow Tesla to void warranty repairs.

Bump, where did your installer tap into the 12V+ and signal for amp? Still enjoying or do you wish for a bit more bass at times?

I love the idea of using the stock sub enclosure but really want something a bit larger. How did they know this sub was optimized for this enclosure / port size? Thanks!

Hmm... wondering if this could be a DIY also... but the “radio” or head unit from which to work with is not really there as in my other cars.

I like the finished product - wish I could see more of the install process.

I was thinking about replacing just the stock subwoofer with JL Audio W3 8 inch but with the stock amp. Would it work?

looks good. I did similar in my S with the NVX sub earlier this year. And have had several SC visits (including MCU upgrade) with not a word from the techs.

The NVX sub kit for the S included everything. Wires, connectors, etc. And several youtube vids show exactly how to install. 12V was obtained from under the hood right at the battery.
