New MCU model issues, anyone?

My X 75D with the new MCU has been at the service center since last Tuesday. Some cars were fixed fully by the 2018.10.2 firmwrare, but a subset were not. If you have the issue still where the dashboard screen does not come on it is unsafe to drive the car as the blinkers and some other functions do not work.

For what it's worth I have MCU2 on my model S on 2018.10.2 and summon works from keyfob (have not tried from app) and I got the wifi working after forcibly rebooting the MCU a couple times by using the hold down scroll wheel method. Both 2.4ghz and 5ghz work fine now. Knock on wood so far so good. I'm hoping I get 10.4 soon and of course the new nav update. :D

Picked up new 100D 3/21 (first Tesla) No wifi, no phone connection, can't reboot. Took it to service center in Denver Friday after getting it out of the detail shop for window tint and front end wrap. Got called today said everything is fixed.
Can't connect to wifi, can't connect to phone, won't reboot. Techs in Denver seem to have absolutely no idea about this problem.

Are you sure? With the old MCU the blinkers still worked, only the clicking sounds was not there when MCU was rebooting. I sure hope they didn't change that for safety (MCU can randomly reboot itself any time).

PS) I think the blinker stalk is mandated by law, so at least Elon won't try to stick that on a touch screen - "to turn on left blinker, touch "Control", then " Driving" tab, then "Left Turn Indicator" ;)

I still hope you are right. My car is still being diagnosed as to what is wrong with it.

Yes, sure if the issue affecting the blinkers. The new MCU drives both screens now and other controls. But, the good news is that my Model X is back in business! 2018.10.6 installed and all is well so far.

Hope closer to 3 cause I have a June Delivery...

Ugh, not a good thing then. Considering how often the old MCU sometimes becomes unresponsive, and sometimes just reboots, this could become a safety issue (sudden turn indicator failure). Hopefully the stop light is not controlled via the new PC based MCU. Last but not least, if the new MCU slows down or temporarily freezes the instrument cluster, that's also a problem since you may miss EAB warning, think there is no blind spot warning, or simply keep on accelerating thinking you are still under the speed limit.

New MCU and 10.2 and I’m also unable to summon from app.
Ok, glad it’s not just me. I was told by someone at the store that the app issue is because of my cell coverage.

Also, seems like my auto lane change isn’t the “smooth” style of the new update. It’s more of a “get the hell over.”

I suppose it’s a “wait for it..”.

But seriously, this car is awesome.

I don't think its the MCUs fault. Its just the expected build quality of a Tesla. Dont worry they will fix it all under warranty it just sucks no one checks
This makes me wonder whether Tesla knew about all these issues from their QA but decided to release anyways to keep deliveries going, or are they using customers as the Software QA department. One of Elon's genius cost saving innovations? ;)

Considering the loaner I got from Tesla had the overly tight charge port which means at least 1 person at the factory should have noticed and one person at the service center should have noticed Tesla just shipped it broken even though they knew about it. Honestly if I hadn't read this forum I could have been stranded till a Tesla ranger came to forceably remove stuck charger

(Need to also point out rattling in the drivers speaker, wheel alignment issues and overall worse fit and finish then my own 2017 Model S)

its called typical aggressive So Cali Style driving..

At least i think thats what tesla intended on, because you know in so cali, unless u merg like that, the guy in that lane will speed up the moment u flash those blinkers and NOT let you in.

:p
