New Tesla Communications about the Model X

There has been lots of noise about Tesla's lack of communications about the Model X and how simple it would be for them just to send an email about what is happening and that the car proceeding in some orderly fashion etc. Many claimed it would take time away from the mission to communicate to us. I am here to report that Tesla has listened and received just such an unsolicited email today from Jon McNeill, President, Global Sales and Service.

We have good news for you. Your Model X is built and will be delivered to you this month.


Thank you for your patience as we've taken a little extra time to ensure your Model X meets the highest standards of quality. For the last couple of months, we held back our production rate to check and recheck every part of Model X from each of the ground-breaking features to road performance. We've had members of our management team, including Elon, test drive Model X as it came off the line so that we can confidently say that you're going to love your Model X.


As you've read in recent reviews, it's paid off. We can't wait for you to get behind the wheel of your Model X to experience the beauty, comfort, performance and truly one-of-a-kind drive experience.

Just received the same also. Except mine quotes the "April-Early May" delivery timeline for me. Still says built this month though.

Me too. They offered to allow me to change my configuration to allow for earlier delivery.

Me too, said it was already built but DS said it goes into production next week. I would have preferred more accurate communication from the DS. From now on I think it will be easier to communicate directly with the DS by phone.
