No LTE icon, but I can stream?

came out from work. No LTE icon, but I was able to remote unlock my car, and I can stream. Browser doesn’t work. Very odd. I got 39.7 about 5 days ago, no problem with LTE up to now.

I'm on 2022.12.3.20 (the FSD beta), and I've noticed that with that version (and maybe a version or two before that), the LTE icon is nowhere to be seen on the display. A WiFi icon will appear when I'm connected to WiFi, but I can no longer tell at a glance if the car has cellular service.

this thread is almost four years old. the UI was very different then.
