Amen. I've heard basically nothing from Tesla since my order on 10/11. And I only heard something because I went to the Costa Mesa center to ask.
One thing that bugs me is how long my SA takes to respond. Obviously, i dont know how many people he's helping out / finding information from him but sometimes he goes days before he sends me a response. idk,.. its the little things. We're almost like masochists lol. We love being treated bad.. and still smile :)

Same. I ordered on 10/15 and received a congratulatory email. I responded with a few questions (Homelink install, selecting a different delivery location, trade in specific question) and 7 days later I received an e-mail that simply said “I will let you know once you have a VIN”.

It will all work out and my questions will be answered in time, no doubt. However, I just made a $45K purchase commitment to the company so you would think a little better communication would be in place.

lol.. 45K is not throwaway money, 71k for the performance isnt either but it seems like it's all the same for them. Not saying that they should treat those who pay more differently, just in general, they should be more attentive to those who have placed orders and are waiting for VIN's. I'm sure some get aggravated with how quiet they are that it leads to cancellations.

Tesla was moving Heaven & Earth to deliver as many N. American cars as possible before the end of September. They were shipping cars from one delivery center to another, upgrading customers to premium wheels or including premium colors at no charge, just to get as many deliveries as possible by EOQ.

This kept Asian and European customers waiting, and they too were impatient. They then switched to Asia/European priority. Need to send totally full ferry ships over seas, to get those deliveries done by EOY.

When it will no longer be possible to to the transportation overseas, and deliver by EOY, they will again transition to fulfilling N. American orders. US orders will begin backing up, and total production will be diverted to filling those awaiting orders.

While this is not pleasant for N. American buyers, who missed the EOQ rush, it is obviously the most efficient proceedure for Tesla to deliver in this way, but uncomforable for those who want the hoped for 2 week deliveries.

Biggest issue is that Tesla did not switch the website 2 week delivery estimation when they switched allocation.

Takes longer than two weeks to go from order to delivery, especially if your car needs to be shipped to the East Coast. Only way Tesla could accomplish that was when there were a lot of on the ground inventory. That inventory is now on it's way overseas.

Ive been lucky I guess, my delivery specialist has always responded to my emails sometimes within mins, the latest was a day but he got back with me. I'm all set for delivery!!

There is a difference between sale associates and delivery specialists. The delivery specialist absolutely should respond quickly. But then, apparently from reading these threads, not always...

in the land of tesla $45k is not a big fish .. thats the cheap car ..

I ordered on the 18th, and so far no emails from Tesla except the order acknowledgement. If I have a SA, I don't know who it is.

I ordered on 10/11. I don't remember an e-mail, but it is in my account. No VIN in source code. I don’t have an SA, but have corresponded with the SF delivery manager (I had his e-mail and #) from an earlier vehicle I couldn’t pick up. I think they are going to deliver last to those of is in the SF Bay Area - as they figure we are logistically simple. It’s not fair, but that’s Tesla.

Yes, but Tesla is selling mostly Model 3’s. I think a Model S or X would not get you a red carpet!

Think of Tesla as a busy fast food restaurant. They are probably trying to dump cars out for sale as fast as possible. I don’t think they care much about “first ordered, first delivered.” They just want to get cars out there as fast as they can.

This is from my Tesla Rep- for Finance
Hello XYZ,

I Unfortunately don’t have an update for you yet. It’s just as well because we are still waiting for the federal and provincial government to add the 2020 Model 3 to the lists of vehicles that are eligible for the rebates. As a result we are not delivering any Model 3 vehicles until rebates are confirmed.

When you are matched to a vehicle your VIN will appear on your My Tesla account and you a tentative delivery will appear. Please keep in mind we will confirm the delivery with you to ensure the vehicle is ready for you to pick up. I have also included in your account that you are definitely ready for your Model 3.

I hope you have a great weekend!

BINGO!!!
They are pissing a lot of people off, including myself! If I didn't know enough about the car and euphoria, I would cancel and walk. This company doesn't have their sh*t together in keeping customer #1

7 weeks (9/21/19) now and still waiting...for anything...a car, a VIN, an update.

I ordered a model 3 on 10/ 10 and got a text yesterday saying my Tesla’s enroute and to book and delivery appointment. I booked an appointment for nov 16th . Now I just called Tesla to ask them something else and they’re saying something doesn’t seem right with the scheduled appointment. There’s no way you’ll be able to get the car by that date . Has anyone else had this problem?
