As well as the Fast Charger program, there is also a Destination Charger program

Targeted at regional LGAs and covers up to 75% of the costs of four chargers.

Applications closed in May 2022, not sure when results were communicated, but chargers were required to be installed within a 4-month (8-months in flood affected areas).

The first of these stations are just starting to popup.

Seem to be connected to a Malaysian company of the same name.

Shopping Centres Completed Initiatives Expert consultancy firms were engaged to identify improvements to our three centres with regard to waste generation, water use, and electricity consumption. A range of recommendations have been progressed. Port Central and Coffs Central have introduced recycling and coffee cup separation bins and organic composters have been installed with the assistance of an EPA grant to allow us to divert food waste from landfill. A rooftop garden has also been commissioned at Coffs Central. Future Plans All centre lighting has been converted to LED and plans are underway to augment existing centre PV (solar) capacities with two 400kW rooftop solar systems installed at both Port and Coffs on a shade sails structure above the carparks and a further 99kW system installed at Kempsey. This will bring the combined total solar system output to 1,128kw, (this equates to the enough generated electricity to power 112 homes per annum).Sizing was determined by the aforementioned independent report and should cover our energy needs on a day-to-day basis (weather permitting), significantly reducing our energy consumption, carbon emissions, and reliance on the grid. We are also exploring the possibility of each centre having an embedded network whereby retailers can purchase solar electricity from Gowings at favourable rates and we have applied for a NSW Government grant to install electric vehicle chargers at each centres.

Round 2 is here

Residents in regional NSW and tourists can now drive their electric vehicles with greater confidence as the Minns Government delivers more EV chargers through the Destination Charging Program.

Applications are now open for small to medium regional tourism businesses and councils to install EV charging infrastructure.

Successful applicants will receive 75 per cent of the cost of purchasing and installing up to four charge points at each site.

The $10 million allocated for round two of the Destination Charging Program is expected to support the installation at least 1,500 EV charge ports at tourism destinations. Destinations could include motels, wineries, cafes, restaurants, natural attractions, visitor information centres, museums, zoos and local government facilities.

Following the successful rollout of the chargers, a series of EV tourist drives will be developed to promote EV travel across NSW.

There’s also a list of approved EV chargers, and EV charging software linked from NSW Government approved EV charger and software list | NSW Climate and Energy Action which takes you to the Electric Vehicle Council NSW Gov Approved Products - Electric Vehicle Council for more information on the requirements.

The approved software list (in Excel https://electricvehiclecouncil.com....23/09/Approved-EV-charging-software-list.xlsx) also has the base pricing.

And there you go - for a “public subscription”, Chargefox charge $330/year per port ($390/year per port if using 4G), and then take a 5% cut for paid charging. (Side note, I assume there’s a “private” subscription for apartment blocks and offices and depots not open to the public)

Tesla's lack of support for OCPP makes then ineligible for inclusion on the approved charger list.
That's just for the software side - ie Tesla only do billing for destination chargers if you have a handful, and then presumably you can't add OCPP chargers (eg Schneider, ABB) to the Tesla billing portal.

And then on the hardware side - as you mention, no OCPP support means you can't add the wall charger to Chargefox or Noodoe, eg..

I was assuming a Tesla software plus Tesla hardware approved type solution. But you make a good point. If Tesla did support OCPP then Chargefox or Noodoe etc would presumably be able to add Tesla hardware support to their software. Which is possibly something Tesla do not want. Maybe that is the reason for lack of open API charger support from Tesla. Might be confusing to plug into a Tesla wall connector and not be sure who billing might go to and would they or would they not be on the Tesla map.

Round 2 is here

I believe “Round 2” relates to the Fast Charger programme, for which the second round of grant applications opened in December last year. I expected, based on the assessment timeline in the grant application, that results would have been announced in June.

Nothing.

So I have emailed the NSW Net Zero transport team monthly since July asking if there is any update to this programme, to which crickets has been the response 5 months in a row.

That’s not Round 2. The Destination Charger programme is different.

Isn't this the "Destination Charging Grants" thread?
