Orange and red lines on the map in the navagation display

I've noticed little orange and red lines appearing along road side and in some intersections on the map.

What's that all about ?

Traffic. It’s not terribly reliable on less frequented roads. It pulls data from many things (including google maps running on phones, etc) and one or two cars sitting at a stop light could cause that area to show red (heavy traffic) even when it was only a couple cars for a minute (at a red light).

It’a more reliable on more busy roads with a constant flow.

I was on a backroad, I stopped on the road where there was a red line. got out of the car, look around, couldn't find anything.

I guess I can stop doing that.

It had probably left by the time you got there. Not to worry--folks who have found the lines say they are harmless. But you should always wear a mask when you are near them. The red ones are a little more active than the orange ones.
