Our Hearts Are With France Today

This doesn't belong anywhere else here but I thought it needed to be said so I will make a separate thread.

Catholic, Jew, Muslim...
French, American, German or any other...

All our hearts bleed for everyone in France today after it lost one its most iconic structures to fire yesterday. We were all devastated watching the news footage. I was so relieved this morning to hear that many of the pieces of artwork as well as the most important relics were saved. No doubt the donations will start flooding in to see Notre Dame rebuilt, as it should be.

To all of our French members here, please know that we all stand with you today.

I have really no use for religion in general but this is a tragic loss of history.

Too bad the rampant destruction of other historical and religious sites hasn't gotten the same attention because there has been systemic destruction of such sites for the 8years or so that was largely ignored by the media.

I hadn't heard there were any injuries. Absolutely, speedy recovery to any injured.

I'm not religious, but love history. We were fortunate to have been able to visit Notre Dame a few users ago. The whole city is so beautiful. Best of luck to all involved.
