I believe this is because Tesla lists auto wiper as part of EAP functionality. Doesn't it? AP1 cars have the functionality and AP2 cars don't.
And it is not just icons, it is vehicles in the adjacent lanes. AP1 cars shows them and AP2 cars don't.
In addition, showing bikes and trucks as bikes and trucks instead of everything as cars can be helpful slightly. Also it's cooler. AP1 does and and AP2 does not, so it is a difference.
