I am a prospective buyer of a Plaid. Got a Model S (non Plaid) loaner. While forward-parking I stopped 3 ft (1 meter) before the curb because the car was telling me that there was an obstacle in front. Is this the really how it works? How will they fix it with no sensors?

My wife and I just went for another ride. parking assist is buggy and the car screams frequently when driving in a narrow street with hedges. Given the inaccurate sensing on the front side, it is really too much of a nuisance with no benefit. I love some things about the car but this is not the topic here. We have very many narrow streets in Switzerland and I fear that this car simply is not programmed to deal with them... I have on emore day on my trial. We shall see.
