You will need a credit card for the $1,500 to allow you to place an order for the car. Once you place an order the $1,000 reservation fee along with $1,500 you put on your credit card will become non-refundable. You can't use it for a deposit on the car. For that you need a wire transfer or check. In the future you will need to have a credit card on file if you don't have free Supercharger miles to pay for charging.

Not every car requires $2500 to place an order. CPOs are only $1000. I suspect the deposit price on a Model 3 is only $1000 and it will just convert to non-refundable once the car is configured without additional funds being required.
