20190927_170732.jpg I picked my car up today. My appointment was at 1630 but I got there about 20min early to try to get some time to look the car over. I walked in there were people sitting around the waiting room, a few talking to delivery specialists. There was a young lady sitting at a desk so I walked over to the desk. She asked if she could help, I told her my name and that I had an appointment. She checked her computer real quick and said prefect I'm your delivery specialist. She asked about my trade then we went and she double checked the mileage and asked me to get everything out that I wanted to keep.

We then went inside and she handed me some paperwork to sign. I asked if I could look the car over before assigning anything. She seemed a little annoyed and tried to talk me into signing saying they could shred the paperwork if I decided I didn't want the car. I stood my ground and said I'd prefer to see it first. A little upset she decided to pull my car into the delivery bay. I looked it over and only found a few minor issues. One was a paint chip at the bottom of the A pillar between the front fender and windshield. Looked like it had been touched up but wasn't as think as the other paint. The next was some scratches on the kick panel of the drivers door. The rubber weather stripping that meets that kick panel wasn't straight and had a weird crease in it. There are some weird scrapes under the frunk lid but I'm pretty sure they'll come off easily. The steering wheel is straight and there aren't any panels that stand out to me as being out of line.

I had asked how much of a charge it would have a couple days ago since I had a long drive home. The guy I talked to said he'd make sure it had a full charge. It only had a little over 50%. It's a September 2019 build. Had 9 miles when I got it.

Picked my car up yesterday. With all the horror stories I was scared but damn, I got a good one. Besides some dirt from transport hiding in some odd places I couldn’t find anything to be upset about. Had 3 miles at delivery. Got to drive it a whole 12 miles, dropped it off for PPF. Pick it back up Thursday.

I used a referral code and it took two full weeks for the free superchaging miles to show up. I thought it was there immediately, and did a bunch of supercharging. Had to pay for it, and there's no way to have them go back and take the miles added off of your free miles, so you *will* be paying for all the SC'ing you do until it finally shows up.

I picked up my performance this past Tues. I’ve supercharged 4 times since then. My SA told me I should see my 2 years free supercharging in my account in a couple of weeks. My loot box shows 1,000 miles from my initial referral. After I would supercharge, it would show the $ amount charged..... but nothing ever hit my credit card. Finally today, my lootbox shows the supercharged miles deducted (780 left).

Yup, once the free miles show up in either your Tesla account or your "Loot Box," you're good to go. But up until that point, you pay; not only did the charges show up on my Tesla account, but they also showed up on my bank statement.

Just an update regarding my delivery last Tuesday. I found a few more minor issues, just dropped it off today at Tesla Agoura Hills (nice place, pretty quiet at 11am). They seemed amenable to fixing my delivery issues, which are:
  • Crooked Steering Wheel (affects Autosteer too) / Alignment seems okay
  • Door ding on driver side and small scratch in same place
  • Rear tail light gaps all over the place, trunk oddly seems pretty aligned
  • Rear bumper slight separated from middle clips (gap you can see inside)
  • Chrome top trim on passenger rear pinched rubber and is raised on one side
  • Some excess paint on the bumper corners, super minor. I told them I don't care if it gets fixed.
...otherwise an awesome car! I'll report back with my final experience. Fingers crossed.

Finally picked up my car on 9/26 (7/27 order). Tesla would not compensate for all the Lyft rides I had to take for 5 fives while they made numerous false promises. Car is amazing though. Love the smart summon feature

Has anyone had the 2 years of free supercharging thye promised show up on their app or profile??

Its supposed to show up after a few weeks in your account. We shall see.

Picked up my P3- in Burbank last Wed 9/25. White with 19”, black interior. Overall car is excellent no issue with the paint. I had two Due Bills meaning things that need to be looked at or fixed.
1. Rear passenger door sticks (was told this will go away after a week, let’s see)
2. Passenger door seems misaligned, gross unevenness in front gap, almost touching in the middle and large gap at top and bottom.

Otherwise an amazing car, my second mode 3, and I measured flat 0-60 in 3.35 sec. the front motor is audible, makes a whirring sound when accelerating or deaccelerating (regen). My friend told me this is normal, my older RWD was quiet.

Car is getting wrapped in XPEL now. Installer found this chip in the passenger door sill. Not sure if I should just order a repair kit and fill it in myself or go through the headache to get Tesla to fix it. (It's been 4 days since delivery, car only has 15 miles)

I officially gave up and cancelled after threatening to a couple weeks ago. Ordered 07/22, no VIN after 10 weeks. I'm in NorCal, and i'm seeing people here get delivered with my same spec, in my area after 4 weeks. I thought Tesla was different at the beginning of this entire process. Turns out they are equally full of sh!t as every other car dealership/manufacturer. I had a little bit of remorse after cancelling and then found out they raised the price by 1K. They raised the price on a product they cannot deliver. Unreal. AND their web site STILL says 2 weeks knowing damn well they cannot honor that. This is incredibly deceptive. They prey on the rabid fan base and completely take advantage of that. After reading some of these horror stories, I guess I dodged a bullet anyways.

Dude that sucks, I feel your frustration, I originally ordered my car back in 7/19 I took delivery in 9/22 but one thing for sure, it was worth the wait.

Did you try calling your SA before canceling your order?

Yes. She was very nice, but when your official advice is “you should tweet @ Elon, I stop taking you seriously. The other part of this that cost me money, is I had to pay 2 overage payments on my lease, which basically means I rented a car for $500 / mo. I went through 2 loan approvals expiring, interest rates went up 5/8 a point since my first application - then, my credit score dropped enough from the inquires I guess, that my final loan approval went up 1 full percentage point. The shrug my shoulders, holier than thou attitude Tesla holds as a company value, is maddening. Elon Musk is basically the liberal Trump. Except at least he is in charge of producing something people actually want, albeit, at the expense of the tax payer in all of his ventures.

I feel your pain. I am going through a similar issue. Tesla did a bait and switch with my VIN then tried to pressure me into Tesla financing or they will drop my VIN and make me start over. i still have the new VIN but now i'm back to being ignored. It seems like every response is scripted & there is no accountability if maintenance is needed for a reservation and no responsibility for managing customer expectations. I would get a better results talking to the plant at my desk. The car is awesome but the company sucks.

That is just absolutely horrible. I mean, I'm at a loss for words, and if you knew me, you'd realize that is a rare occasion, indeed. I think if they'd done that to me, I'd actually cancel my order, and I'd be willing to go through a ton of crap to get a Tesla. Just.... wow.

I think you should forward your experience to Teslarati or another major Tesla news outlet... someplace where a lot of people will see it, including Tesla (or possibly even Elon himself), as it seems like Teslarati often gets responses from either Elon or the official Tesla twitter account.

Elon says that customer service (purchasing, question answering, scheduling service, getting service, etc) is a major focal point of his right now. Your story would give him the information he needs as to where he really needs to pinpoint that focus.

What happened to you (and what has happened to a lot of Tesla customers) is not OK, and he needs to see experiences like this so he can fix them.

I love Tesla. I have never felt such dedication to a car company and its product(s) ever before. I want them to succeed. But if they're going to succeed, this kind of crap needs to stop. Right now.

Maybe we should start a thread where we can all publish our purchase experiences and send it to Tesla. If Elon really is serious about making positive changes to the customer experience, someone that can actually make these changes would read it.
