What's odd is that the rest of the website seems fine, only the Model X page is weird. I think they might be in the process of switching it over to the stream. If we took down the app server we probably would have taken all of it down, not just the Model X tab.

I've seen the main page hesitate, was worst right at 11:00. The Model S Design Studio is currently not working for me.
 
Crap planning if you ask me. I know they're still a startup and their website isn't exactly stellar, but either don't hype the webcast or get a third-party to host it. I'm sure there would have been plenty of them willing to do it for free, just for the publicity. Grumble...
 
My guess is that Elon and company knew exactly what they were doing in "underestimating" the demand for the webcast. They WANT the site to get hammered, and to suffer from excessive demand. Bad attention is good attention.
