Are you saying that the Velar one is inspired by Tesla? Urm, I think its just natural progression of decades of interior vehicle design. Other vehicles have had infotainment and/or control systems there for decades. Its one of the natural places for there to be one. They either went by a different name/technology and/or were smaller. Certainly nothing that Tesla can take credit for.
Don’t know whether you have seen the previous generation of Velar - multiple screens and buttons everywhere! The clean lines and removal of the clutter in Velar is clearly inspired by Tesla. What you see in the Volvo bin ——sorry Polestar is how traditional cars used to be - with lots of stuff thrown around everywhere!

I must be the only person who thinks that Velar interior looks more like the Polestar than the Tesla interior
Convergence. Some believe it is inevitable as designs seem to converge on a single design "language", or if form is dictated by function. A good example is the plethora of mobile phone designs - some wonderful, some not so - before the era of touchscreens made convergence inevitable.

Or it could be lazy design schools and designers....

This just isn't true though is it? Every car manufacturer is using screens now, and all other manufacturers, including JLR are using dashboards. Which Tesla have scrapped. If they were influenced by Tesla the interior would, you know, look like a Tesla.
